GENERAL PLANTING NOTES:
1) THE SHRUBS INDICATED FOR EACH PLANTING AREA IS TO COMPLETELY COVER ALL PLANTING AREA AT THE SPACING SPECIFIED.
2) REFER TO SPECIFICATIONS FOR STANDARDS TO BE VERIFIED BY THE CONTRACTOR.
3) PLANT MINIMUMS:
1 GAL = 10" MIN. HEIGHT
5 GAL = 18" MIN. HEIGHT
15 GAL = 1 1/4" CALIPER
24" BOX = 2" CALIPER

AND THESE PLANS OR WITHIN THESE PLANS SHALL BE BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE ENGINEER PRIOR TO LANDSCAPE INSTALLATION. ANY
DEVIATIONS) FROM THE PLANS OR SPECIFICATIONS IS TO HAVE WRITTEN APPROVAL.

10) DO NOT WILLFULLY PROCEED WITH PLANTING OPERATIONS AS DESIGNED WHEN IT IS OBVIOUS THAT UNKNOWN OBSTRUCTIONS AND/OR GRADE
DIFFERENCES EXIST THAT MAY NOT HAVE BEEN KNOWN DURING THE DESIGN PROCESS. SUCH CONDITIONS SHALL BE IMMEDIATELY BROUGHT TO THE
ATTENTION OF THE ENGINEER.
1 1) THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ASSUME FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR ALL NECESSARY REVISIONS DUE TO FAILURE TO GIVE SUCH NOTIFICATION. THE
CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY COORDINATION WITH SUBCONTRACTORS AS REQUIRED TO ACCOMPLISH HIS PLANTING OPERATIONS.
12) REFER TO THE SPECIFICATIONS FOR PLANTING REQUIREMENTS, MATERIALS AND EXECUTION.
13) ALL 24" BOX OR LARGER TREES SHALL BE TAGGED BY THE CONTRACTOR FOR APPROVAL BY THE OWNER'S AUTHORIZED REPRESENATIVE.
14) FINAL LOCATIONS OF ALL PLANT MATERIALS SHALL BE SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE OWNER'S AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE.
CONTRACTOR IS TO DO THE FOLLOWING BEFORE BEGINNING PLANTING OPERATIONS: A. SHRUBS AND GROUND COVER - LAY OUT THE ACTUAL
CONTAINERS ON-SITE PRIOR TO DIGGING HOLES.
15) THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE OWNER'S AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE AT LEAST 48 HOURS IN ADVANCE PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF
WORK TO COORDINATE PROJECT OBSERVATION SCHEDULES.
16) IF CONFLICTS ARISE BETWEEN THE ACTUAL SIZE OF AREAS ON THE SITE AND THE DRAWINGS, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONTACT THE
OWNER'S AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE FOR RESOLUTION. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ASSUME FULL RESONSIBILITY FOR ALL NECESSARY REVISIONS
DUE TO FAILURE TO GIVE SUCH NOTIFICATION.
17) IT IS THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO FURNISH PLANT MATERIAL FREE OF PESTS OR PLANT DISEASES. PRE -SELECTED - TAGGED"
PLANT MATERIAL MUST BE INSPECTED BY THE CONTRACTOR AND CERTIFIED PEST AND DISEASE FREE. IT IS THE CONTRACTOR'S OBLIGATION TO
WARRANTY ALL PLANT MATERIAL PER THE SPECIFICATIONS.
18) GROUND COVERS AND SHRUBS ARE TO BE TRIANGULARLY SPACED UNLESS OTHERWISE INDICATED ON THE DRAWINGS.
19) AFTER FINISH GRADES HAVE BEEN ESTABLISHED FOR ALL ON -GRADE PLANTING AREAS, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL HAVE A MINIMUM OF 3 SOIL
SAMPLES TESTED BY WALLACE LABORATORIES, (310) 615-0116 FOR SOIL FERTILITY, AGRICULTURAL SUITABILITY, AND SOIL PREPARATION
RECOMMENDATIONS. THE CONTRACTOR WILL BE REQUIRED TO AMEND THE SOIL TO CONFORM TO THESE RECOMMENDATIONS.
