1. ALL WORK SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THESE PLANS, THE CITY OF FONTANA STANDARD PLANS, THE
CONTRACT PROVISIONS AND THE STANDARD SPECIFICA77ONS FOR PUBLIC WORKS CON57RUC77ON ("GREEN
BOOK-). ALL REFERENCE SPECIFICA TIONS AND STANDARDS SHALL BE 7NE LA TEST ED177ON UNLESS
OTHERWISE NOTED.
WHEN A TECHNICAL CONFLICT IS FOUND TO EXIST IN THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS 77 -IAT CAN NOT BE
RESOL VED BY REFERENCE TO PRECEDENCE PROVISIONS IN 7NE GREEN BOOK" THE CONTRACTOR SHALL
IMMEDIATELY REPORT SAID CONFLICT TO THE CITY ENGINEER FOR RESOLU770N.
ALL MATERIALS AND METHODS ARE SUBJECT TO 77 -IE APPROVAL OF 77 -IE CITY ENGINEER.
4. CONSTRUCTION PERMITS SHALL BE OBTAINED FROM THE CITY OF FONTANA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
DEPARTMENT, ENGINEERING DIVISION PR/OR TO THE START OF ANY WORK. INSPECT/ON COORDINATION SHALL
BE REQUESTED AT LEAST TWO WORKING DAYS PRIOR TO THE START OF ANY WORK IN PUBLIC
RIGHT -OF -WA Y WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS CALL (909) 350-7610.
5. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONFORM TO ALL IWAFFIC CONTROL POLICIES, METHODS AND PROCEDURES
DESCRIBED IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA MANUAL OF TRAFFIC CONTROLS, LA7EST NON -METRIC EDITION
UNLESS OTHERWISE DIRECTED BY T7_lE CITY 7RAFFIC ENGINEER.

17. REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT OF EXIS77NG SURVEY CONTROL, INCLUDING SURVEY MONUMENTS, MONUMENT
TIES AND BENCH MARKS, SHALL BE DONE BY A REGISTERED CIVIL ENGINEER OR LICENSED LAND SURVEYOR.
SURVEY MONUMENTS THAT WILL BE DESTROYED AS A RESULT OF THIS CONST YUC770N SHALL BE REPLACED.
THE CONTRACTOR WILL NO77FY THE ENGINEER ONE WEEK PRIOR TO THE CONSTRUCTION SO THA T 17ES TO
MONUMENTS CAN BE ESTABLISHED FOR LATER REPLACEMENT OF THE MONUMENT.
18 THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN ACCESS FOR LOCAL RES/DENTS AND BUSINESSES AT ALL TIMES. A
MINIMUM 72 FOOT LANE SHALL BE MAINTAINED AT ALL 77MES /N THE CONSTRUCTION AREA FOR RESIDENTS
AND EMERGENCY VEHICLES.
19, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE AND MAINTAIN AN EFFECTIVE MEANS OF DUST CONTROL, INCLUDING
ADEQUA TE WA TERING, A T ALL 77MES.
20. ALL GRADING OPERA 77ONS SHALL BE DISCON77NUED WHEN SUSTAINED WIND VELOCITIES EXCEED 25 MILES
PER HOUR.
21. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOT CAUSE ANY EXCA VA TED MA IERIAL, MUD, SIL T OR DEBRIS TO SE DEPOSITED
ONTO PUBLIC OR PRI VA IF PROPERTY ADJACENT TO THE RIGHT OF WA Y DURING CONSTRUCTION WITHOUT

22 NO TRENCH BACKFILL SHALL TAKE PLACE WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL OF THE CITY INSPECTOR.
