STORM DRAIN CONSTRUCTION NOTE
WHEN ENGINEER CALLS FOR THICKENING THE INVERT OF THE PIPE, THIS
SHALL BE ACCOMPLISHED BY THE FOLLOWING MANNER. THE SOFFIT
SHALL BE INCREASED BY PLACING A BLANKET OF CONCRETE OF THE
EXTRA REQUIRED THICKNESS IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE PIPE
MACHINE PLACEMENT AND BENEATH THE POLYETHYLENE SHEET. THE
INVERT THICKENING WILL BE OBTAINED BY OVEREXCAVAT ING THE
TRENCH AND SHIMMING—UP THE PIPE MACHINE MANDREL BY THE EXTRA
REQUIRED THICKNESS.
NOTE
1. REINFORCING STEEL SHALL BE 1-1/2 INCES CLEAR FROM FACE OF CONCRETE
UNLESS OTHERWISE SHOWN.
2. REINFORCING STEEL FOR INSIDE FACE OF CATCH BASIN SHALL BE CUT AT CENTER

OR GREATER THAN 110 DEGREES.
SHOULD CONSTRUCTION OF THE REQUIRED IMPROVEMENTS NOT
COMMENCE WITHIN TWO YEARS OF THE DATE OF APPROVAL
SHOWN HEREON AND CARRIED FORTH IN A DILIGENT MANNER,
