ALL LABOR, MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT SHALL CONFORM TO THE CALTRANS STANDARD PLANS AND STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS DATED JULY 1999 AND THE CALTRANS TRAFFIC MANUAL, LATEST EDITION. 2. ADVANCE CONSTRUCTION SIGNING INDICATING DURATION OF PROJECT SHALL BE IN PLACE ONE WEEK MINIMUM PRIOR TO IMPLEMENTING EACH DETOUR. 3. CONSTRUCTION PERMITS SHALL BE OBTAINED FROM THE CITY OF FONTANA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT, ENGINEERING DIVISION PRIOR TO THE START OF ANY WORK. INSPECTION COORDINATION SHALL BE REQUESTED AT LEAST TWO WORKING DAYS PRIOR TO THE START OF ANY WORK IN PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS. CALL (909) 350-7610. 4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONFORM TO ALL TRAFFIC CONTROL POLICIES, METHODS AND PROCEDURES DESCRIBED IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA MANUAL OF TRAFFIC CONTROLS, LATEST NON -METRIC EDITION UNLESS OTHERWISE DIRECTED BY THE CITY TRAFFIC ENGINEER. 5. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE CITY TRAFFIC SECTION TWO WORKING DAYS PRIOR TO IMPLEMENTING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL PLAN TO ALLOW CITY STAFF TIME TO ADJUST TRAFFIC SIGNAL OPERATION. 6. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN TWO WAY TRAFFIC AT ALL TIMES UNLESS OTHERWISE APPROVED BY THE CITY TRAFFIC ENGINEER. QUALIFIED FLAGGERS SHALL BE USED WHEN THE ROADWAY IS REDUCED TO A SINGLE LANE OR WHERE TRAFFIC MUST STOP FOR MOVEMENT OF EQUIPMENT. 7. IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO MAINTAIN BARRICADES, DELINEATORS OR OTHER TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES AT ALL TIMES. 8. THE WORK ZONE SHALL BE ROUTINELY INSPECTED AND MAINTAINED TO ENSURE PROPER VISIBILITY AND OPERATION OF ALL TRAFFIC CONTROL AND ADVANCE WARNING DEVICES. 9. ALL EXISTING SIGNS, STRIPING OR PAVEMENT MARKINGS THAT ARE IN CONFLICT AND/OR NO LONGER APPLICABLE SHALL BE REMOVED AS DIRECTED BY THE CITY TRAFFIC ENGINEER. 10. SIGNS SHALL NOT BE PLACED IN EXCESS OF 15 FEET FROM THE EDGE OF THE TRAVELED WAY. PORTABLE SIGN STANDARDS SHALL BE TIED DOWN OR WEIGHTED TO PREVENT TOPPLING. 11. THE EXACT LOCATION OF ALL TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES IS SUBJECT TO APPROVAL OF THE CITY TRAFFIC ENGINEER. ADDITIONAL WARNING, CONSTRUCTION SIGNS OR TRAFFIC SAFETY EQUIPMENT MAY BE REQUIRED BY THE CITY TRAFFIC ENGINEER. 12. ALL WORK AREAS SHALL BE CLEARLY IDENTIFIED AND DELINEATED WITH CONES, PORTABLE DELINEATORS AND/OR BARRICADES. ALL CONES SHALL BE A MINIMUM OF 28 INCHES IN HEIGHT. ALL PORTABLE DELINEATORS SHALL BE A MINIMUM OF 30 INCHES IN HEIGHT. 13. ALL SIGNS SHALL BE REFLECTORIZED OR ILLUMINATED. 14. TRAFFIC SIGN DIMENSIONS, COLOR AND LETTERING SHALL CONFORM TO THE LATEST CALTRANS SIGN SPECIFICATION SHEETS. SIGN CODES SHOWN HEREON ARE TO CONFORM TO CALTRANS SPECIFICATIONS SHEET CODES. TRAFFIC SIGN SIZE SHALL BE STANDARD UNLESS OTHERWISE SHOWN ON THE PLANS. SPECIAL ADVANCE WARNING SIGNS SHALL HAVE BLACK LETTERING ON ORANGE REFLECTIVE BACKGROUND. 15. ALL SIGNS SHALL BE MOUNTED ON GALVANIZED STEEL POSTS, UNLESS OTHERWISE SHOWN ON THE PLANS, PER CITY STANDARD DETAIL 139. 16. ALL FLASHING YELLOW WARNING LIGHTS SHALL BE TYPE "A" PORTABLE, LENS DIRECTED, ENCLOSED AND MOUNTED AT A MINIMUM HEIGHT OF THREE FEET, MEASURED FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE LENS TO THE UNDERLYING SURFACE. 17. UPON COMPLETION OF CONSTRUCTION, CONTRACTOR SHALL RESTORE ALL SIGNING, STRIPING, BARRICADES, AND OTHER TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE CITY TRAFFIC ENGINEER. 18.
