I. TRAFFIC SIGNAL INTERCONNECT SHALL CONFORM TO THESE PLANS, THE STATE
OF CALIFORNIA STANDARD 5PEGIFIGATION5 SECTION 86 AND STANDARD
PLANS, LATEST EDITION, AND THE SPECIAL PROVISIONS.
2. ALL REQUIRED GON5TRUGTION PERMITS SHALL BE OBTAINED FROM THE CITY
OF FONTANA ENGINEERING DIVISION PRIOR TO GOMMENGENT OF WORK.
3. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REPAIR ALL DAMAGED LAND5GAPING AND
IRRIGATION TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE ENGINEER.
4. GONDUIT SHALL NOT BE INSTALLED WITHIN ONE FOOT EITHER SIDE OF WHEEL
TRACKS (PARALLEL TO HHEEL TRAGK5).
5. CONDUIT SHALL NOT BE INSTALLED DIRECTLY OVER ANY UTILITY LINE
(PARALLEL HITH THE LINE). UTILITY LINE GRO551NG5 ARE ALLOWED.
6. CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN APPROVAL FROM THE ENGINEER FOR EXACT
EQUIPMENT LOGATION5 PRIOR TO FINAL PLACEMENT.
7. PULL BOXES AND SPLIGE VAULTS SHALL NOT BE LOCATED IN DRIVEHAYS OR
OTHER LOCATIONS HHIGH MAY INTERFERE WITH THE MOVEMENT OF PEOPLE OR
VEHICLES. PULL BOX LOGATION5 SHALL BE ADJUSTED AS NEEDED.
8. ALL PULL BOXES SHALL BE No 6E AND CONDUIT SHALL BE 2" GALVANIZED
RIGID METAL UNLESS OTHERWISE SHOWN. ALL SPLICE VAULTS SHALL BE TYPE
P48 48.5 "x30.5 "x30" DEEP (INSIDE), F I BERGLA55, HAVE LOCKING LIDS, AND BE
LABELED "COMMUNICATIONS". FULL BOXES AND SPLIGE VAULTS SHALL BE
INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROJECT DETAILS FOR PULL BOX AND
SPLICE VAULT INSTALLATION.
9. WHERE CONDUIT IS INSTALLED AND DISTURBS EXISTING STRIPING,
CONTRACTOR SHALL ARRANGE AND PAY FOR 5TRIPIN6. 5EE 5PEGIAL
PROVISIONS FOR CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBILITY FOR TEMPORARY PAVEMENT
MARKINGS.
10. ALL PGG SIDEWALK DAMAGED BY THE CONTRACTORS OPERATIONS SHALL BE
5AHGUT, REMOVED, AND REPLACED TO EXISTING EXPANSION/SCRIBE JOINTS.
II. LOCATION OF ALL UNDERGROUND FAGILITITES ARE APPROXIMATE. THE
GONTRACTOR SHALL POTHOLE TO DETERMINE THE EXACT LOCATIONS AND
VERIFY ALL CONDITIONS ON THE JOB 51TE. HAND DIG UNTIL CLEAR OF
OBSTRUCTIONS. PHONE UNDERGROUND SERVICE ALERT AT (800) 227-2600,
TWO (2) WORKING DAYS BEFORE D 1 GGI NG. THE ENG I NEER SHALL BE NOTIFIED
OF ANY DISGREPENGIE5 OR CONFLICTS PRIOR TO DOING STREET WORK.
12. THE GONTRAGTOR SHALL LOCATE, PROTECT, SHORE, BRAGS, SUPPORT, AND
MAINTAIN ALL EXISTING FACILITIES INGLUDING GAS, HATER, IRRIGATION,
SEWER, POWER, STREET LIGHTS, TELEPHONE AND OTHER GON5TRUGTION HHIGH
MAY BE UNCOVERED OR OTHERWISE AFFECTED BY THE HORK. GONTRACTOR
SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE LOCATION AND PRESERVATION OF ALL SUCH
FACILITIES IN THE AREA OF GON5TRUGTION, AND SHALL NOTIFY UTILITIES
FORTY-EIGHT (48) HOURS IN ADVANGE OF ANY GONS'TRUCTION.
13. ALL TRAFF I G CONTROL DEV I GE5 SHALL BE IN PLACE BEFORE WORK IS
STARTED. TRAFFIC CONTROL, WORK ZONES, AND LANE CLOSURES SHALL BE
COMPLETELY DELINEATED BY GHANNELIZATION DEVICES AND SHIELDED BY
BARRIERS TO EXCLUDE VEHICLE AND/OR PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC.
CONTRACTOR SHALL FOLLOIl THE CALIFORNIA MANUAL ON UNIFORM TRAFFIG
CONTROL DEVICES (CALIFORNIA MUTGO) FOR CONSTRUCTION AND
MAINTENANCE WORK ZONES, GALTRAN5 STANDARD SPEC I F I GATI DNS, AND
STANDARD PLANS, DATED MAY 2006. EXACT LOCATION OF ALL TRAFFIC
CONTROL TO BE DETERMINED BY THE ENGINEER AND ADDITIONAL WARNING
AND/OR GON5TRUGTION SIGNING MAY BE REQUIRED. DEVICES NO LONGER
REQUIRED SHALL BE REMOVED A5 SOON AS POSSIBLE. GONTRAGTOR SHALL
PROVIDE TRAFFIC CONTROL PLANS TO ENGINEER FOR APPROVAL PRIOR TO
GON5TRUGTION.
14. PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC MUST BE MAINTAINED AT ALL TIMES. PEDESTRIANS MAY
BE RELOGATED ONTO PRIVATE PROPERTY WITH OWNERS PERMISSION ONLY.
15. NO EQUIPMENT OR MATERIALS SHALL BE STORED ON SIDEWALK AT ANY TIME.
16. A 12" (305 mm) VERTICAL SEPARATION BETWEEN NEH CONDUIT5 AND OTHER
UTILITIES SHALL BE MAINTAINED AT CROSSINGS. A 3' (914 mm) MIN.
HORIZONTAL SEPARATION BETWEEN NEW CONDUITS AND POWER AND HATER
UTILITIES THAT RUN PARALLEL SHALL BE MAINTAINED. A 3'(c[14 mm) (EXCEPT
WHERE NOTED) MINIMUM SEPARATION BETWEEN CONDUIT AND 5ANI TARP
SEWER AND STORM DRAINS THAT RUN PARALLEL SHALL BE MAINTAINED,
UNLESS OTHERWISE APPROVED BY THE COUNTY. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL
MAINTAIN A MINIMUM 3'N14 mm) CLEARANCE FOR ALL OTHER FACILITIES.
17. AT THE END OF EACH WORK DAY, CONDUIT GAPS SHALL BE PLACED ON ALL
VACANT DUCTS.
I8. THE REMOVAL, STORAGE AND REPLACEMENT OF ALL SHRUBBERY SHALL BE
THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR. ALL LANDSCAPING SHALL BE
RESTORED TO ORIGINAL OR BETTER CONDITION.

TRAFFIC OF THE CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS.

CONTROLLERS AND PULL BOXES. ALL TRAFFIC SIGNAL AND INTERCONNECT
CONDUITS SHALL BE MAINTAINED AND PROTECTED.
23. UNLE55 OTHERWISE NOTED, ALL CONDUITS GROSSING 51GNALIZED
INTERSECTIONS, CALTRAN5, 5ANBAG, OR METROL I NK/SCRRA R/H SHALL BE
BORED BETWEEN SPLICE VAULTS.
24. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RE5P05IBLE FOR MAINTAINING RECORD
DRAWINGS FOR ALL WORK THROUGHOUT THE COURSE OF CON5 TRUCTION.
25. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PROTECTION OF ALL
EXISTING SURVEY MONUMENTS OR MARKERS DURING CON5TRUGTION.
26. IF UNUSUAL AMOUNTS OF BONE, STONE OR ARTIFACTS ARE UNCOVERED, WORK
WITHIN 165 -FT OF THE AREA SHALL GEA5E IMMEDIATELY AND A QUALIFIED
ARGHAEOLOGI5T SHALL BE GON50LTED TO DEVELOP, IF NECESSARY,
MITIGATION MEASURES TO REDUCE ANY ARGHAEOLOGIGAL IMPACT TO A LESS
THAN SIGNIFICANT EFFECT BEFORE CONSTRUCTION RESUMES IN THE AREA.
