ANDARD METHODS AND AVAILABLE RECORDS HAVE CONFIRMED THE EXISTENCE OF THE UNDERGROUND
!TIES SHOWN ON THESE PLANS. THE INDICATED LOCATIONS OF THESE UTILITIES ARE APPROXIMATE AND
NOT BE COMPLETE. ALL UTILITIES ARE TO BE FIELD VERIFIED BY THE CONTRACTOR.
o. PRIOR TO THE COMMENCING WORK, ALL EXISTING SITE AND TRACK CONDITIONS SHALL BE FIELD VERIFIED
WITH THE ENGINEER TO ASCERTAIN THE LIMITS OF THE WORK ACTIVITIES. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT
AND RECEIVE THE ENGINEER'S APPROVAL OF THE PROJECT SCHEDULE AND THE OPERATIONS PLAN. EACH ITEM
OF WORK SHALL BE DESCRIBED AND ACCOUNTED FOR IN BOTH DOCUMENTS. REFER TO SPECIFICATIONS FOR
FURTHER INFORMATION REGARDING SUBMITTAL REOUIREMENTS.
7. THE INDICATED LOCATION OF FIBER OPTIC CABLE IS APPROXIMATE AND MUST BE VERIFIED BY THE
CONTRACTOR PRIOR TO ANY EXCAVATION OR OTHER WORK IN THE VICINITY. THE CONTRACTOR WILL BE
RESPONSIBLE TO REPAIR/REPLACE. AT HIS EXPENSE, ANY CABLES AND ALL ASSOCIATED WORK THEY DAMAGE
INCLUDING PAYMENT OF ANY DAMAGE CLAIMS BY THE UTILITY COMPANY.
8. ALL CONSTRUCTIONS SHALL BE SCHEDULED AND COORDINATED THROUGH THE ENGINEER AND WITH THE
VARIOUS COMPANIES AND AGENCIES WHO MAY BE AFFECTED BY THIS WORK. ALL REQUIRED PERMITS NEEDED
FOR THE WORK SHALL BE OBTAINED BY CONTRACTORS UNLESS ALREADY PROVIDED.
9. THE CONTRACTOR WILL VERIFY THE INVERTS AND LOCATIONS OF ALL EXISTING DRAINAGE FACILITIES THAT
ARE TO REMAIN AND BE MAINTAINED.
10. EXISTING PIPES AND CULVERTS THAT ARE TO BE MAINTAINED WILL BE CLEANED AND FLUSHED AS
NECESSARY TO RESTORE FULL CAPACITY.
11. THE CONTRACTOR WILL FOLLOW ALL APPLICABLE SAFETY CODED, REGULATIONS AND SPECIFICATIONS.
12. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE RESTORATION OF ITS ORIGINAL CONDITION OF ANY
STRUCTURED INTENDED TO REMAIN IN PLACE.
13. RAIL TRAFFIC DISRUPTIONS SHALL BE KEPT TO A MINIMUM DURING THE EXECUTION OF THE WORK. SUCH
DISRUPTIONS THAT MAY BE REQUIRED SHALL BE COORDINATED WITH THE ENGINEER AND THE UNION
PACIFIC RAILROAD (UPRR) PER SECTION 02450 OF THE SPECIFICATIONS, IN ALL CASES.
14. ROADWAY TRAFFIC DISRUPTIONS SHALL BE KEPT TO A MINIMUM AS PRESCRIBED BY THE PERMITTING
AGENCY DURING CONSTRUCTION. ALL LANE CLOSURES SHALL BE COORDINATED WITH THE CITY AND/OR
AGENCIES HAVING JURISDICTION BEFOREHAND AND THE ENGINEER WILL BE KEPT FULLY INFORMED AS
TO SUCH REOUEST FOR CLOSURE.
15. ANY CONCRETE SLABS, FOUNDATIONS, BULK HEADS AND FENCING THAT INTERFERE WITH NEW WORK
SHALL BE DEMOLISHED AND REMOVED. ALL EXISTING FEATURES TO REMAIN SHALL BE LEFT INTACT OR
ADJUSTED TO PROVIDE A STABLE AND SAFE CONDITION COMPATIBLE WITH THE NEW WORK. ANY EXISTING
FEATURES TO REMAIN THAT HAVE BEEN DAMAGED BY THE CONTRACTOR'S OPERATIONS SHALL BE
RESTORED TO ITS ORIGINAL CONDITION TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE OWNER AT THE CONTRACTOR'S
EXPENSE.
16. ALL EXISTING UNDERGROUND UTILITIES WITHIN THE PROJECT SITE ARE TO REMAIN UNLESS
OTHERWISE NOTED. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROTECT THE EXISTING UTILITIES FROM DAMAGE DURING
THE COURSE OF THE OPERATIONS: TO CONTRACTOR SHALL REPAIR AND/OR RESTORE THE UTILITIES AT
HIS OWN EXPENSE TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE UTILITY OWNER.
17. ALL PROJECT AREAS TO BE SPRAYED WITH PRE—EMERGENT HERBICIDE UPON COMPLETION OF WORK.
18. CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE ALL EXISTING STRIPING FOR PRIOR TO APPLICATION OF SLURRY SEAL.
19. ALL STRIPING SHALL CONFORM TO THE CITY OF FONTANA AND ONTARIO PLAN NO. 1125'S. ALL ITEMS
OR DETAILS NOT COVERED IN THE CITY STANDARD PLANS SHALL CONFORM TO THE APPLICABLE SECTIONS
OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA STANDARD PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS DATED JULY 2002.
20. ALL STRIPING AND PAVEMENT MARKINGS SHALL BE SPRAYABLE THIN MIL THERMOPLASTIC. ALL
CURB MARKINGS AND MEDIAN NOSE MARKINGS SHALL BE TRAFFIC PAINT UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE.
21. ALL NEW REGULATORY AND WARNING SIGNS EXCEPT PARKING RESTRICTION SIGNS SHALL HAVE
ASTM TYPE IX REFLECTIVE SHEETING (3M DIAMOND VIP GRADE OR EOUIVALENT). ALL NEW SCHOOL
SIGNS SHALL BE FLUORESCENT YELLOW—GREEN. ALL OTHER SIGNS HAVE ASTM TYPE IIA (SUPER
ENGINEER GRADE)
22. ALL CONFLICTING STRIPING, PAVEMENT MARKINGS AND RAISED PAVEMENT MARKERS SHALL BE
REMOVED EVEN IF NOT SHOWN ON THE PLAN. REMOVAL OF STRIPING AND PAVEMENT MARKINGS
SHALL BE DONE BY WET SAND BLASTING AND/OR GRINDING. ALL DAMAGED PAVEMENT DUE TO
REMOVAL SHALL BE REPAIRED AS NECESSARY TO MAINTAIN A SMOOTH AND UNIFORMED SURFACE.
23. ALL FIRE HYDRANT LOCATIONS SHALL BE MARKED WITH BLUE REFLECTIVE RPM PER ONTARIO
STD. PLAN NO 4064.
