These conclusions reflect our professional opinion based on our limited study of the site. The proposed development area will be safe against hazard from major settlement, slippage and landslides and the proposed grading will not adversely affect the geologic stability of the site or adjacent properties, provided the following recommendations are correctly implemented. STRUCTURES The foundations may be designed using conventional continuous footings; however, the upper soils should be over excavated 3 feet, (measured from existing or finished grade which ever is greater) and 5 feet outside the footings. The bottom should be moisture conditioned and re -compacted back in place. A water truck and/or fire hoses will most likely be need for this. This will need to be performed under all proposed building areas. The driveway, parking areas and any area to receive fill will also need to be over excavated 12 inches (measured from existing), moisture conditioned and re -compacted back in place. Compaction of Fill. After each layer has been evenly spread, moisture conditioned, and mixed, it shall be uniformly compacted to not less than 90 percent of maximum dry density. Approved fill material shall be placed in areas prepared to receive fill in near -horizontal layers not exceeding 6 inches in compacted thickness. Compaction equipment shall be adequately sized and shall be either specifically designed for so'! .:o,-nraction or of proven reliability, to efficiently achieve the specified degree of compaction.
