NG AND STG GENERAL NOTES
1. CONSTRUCTION PERMITS SHALL BE OBTAINED FROM THE CITY OF FONTANA
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT, ENGINEERING DIVISION PRIOR TO THE
START OF ANY WORK. INSPECTION COORDINATION SHALL BE REQUESTED AT
LEAST TWO WORKING DAYS PRIOR TO THE START OF ANY WORK IN PUBLIC
RIGHT—OF—WAY WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS. CALL (909) 350-7610.
2. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONFORM TO ALL TRAFFIC CONTROL POLICIES,
METHODS, DETAILS, DIMENSIONS, AND PROCEDURES DESCRIBED IN THE STATE OF
CALIFORNIA MANUAL ON UNIFORM TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES.
3. CONTACT TRAFFIC ENGINEERING PROJECT MANAGER AT (909) 350-7610 TWO
WORKING DAYS PRIOR TO REMOVAL OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE OR EQUIPMENT.
STOP SIGNS SHALL ONLY BE REMOVED BY CITY PERSONNEL.
4. ALL WORK, MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT FOR TRAFFIC SIGNING AND STRIPING
SHALL CONFORM TO THESE PLANS, THE STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE
CITY OF FONTANA, THE CALIFORNIA MANUAL ON UNIFORM TRAFFIC CONTROL
DEVICES FOR STREETS AND HIGHWAYS DATED, SEPTEMBER 2006.
5. 2 WORKING DAYS NOTICE SHALL BE GIVEN TO THE CITY TRAFFIC ENGINEER (909)
350-7610 FOR APPROVAL OF CONTROL POINTS OR "CAT TRACKING" PRIOR TO
APPLICATION OF PAVEMENT STRIPING.
6. TRAFFIC SIGN SIZE SHALL BE FOR CONVENTIONAL ROADWAYS, UNLESS
OTHERWISE SHOWN ON PLANS.
7. ALL SIGNS SHALL BE MOUNTED ON GALVANIZED STEEL POSTS, UNLESS
OTHERWISE SHOWN ON THE PLANS, PER CITY STANDARD DETAIL 4003.
8. STENCILS USED FOR PAVEMENT MARKINGS SHALL MATCH CITY OF FONTANA
STANDARD STENCILS.
9. ALL STRIPING AND PAVEMENT MARKINGS SHALL BE ALKYD THERMOPLASTIC
UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.
10. CROSSWALKS SHALL HAVE 10' BETWEEN THE CENTERLINE OF THE 12" STRIPES
UNLESS OTHERWISE SHOWN THE PLANS, PER CITY STANDARD DETAIL 1003.
11. AS—BUILT DRAWINGS SHALL BE PROVIDED BY THE CONTRACTOR TO THE
ENGINEER OF RECORD, WHO SHALL PROVIDE RECORD DRAWINGS AND ELECTRONIC
AUTODESK CAD FILES, TO THE CITY TRAFFIC ENGINEER.
12. ALL CONFLICTING STRIPING, MARKINGS TO BE REMOVED, SHALL BE BY
SANDBLASTING.
13. SUBSTITUTE TYPE "C" RAISED PAVEMENT MARKERS FOR TYPE "G" MARKERS ON
DETAIL 38 ON HIGHWAYS WITH RAISED MEDIANS.
14. BLUE DOT MARKERS (BLUE R.R.P.M.) ARE TO BE INSTALLED AT ALL FIRE
HYDRANT LOCATIONS PER CITY STANDARD PLAN.

O APPLY / REAPPLY THERMOPLASTIC 8" SOLID WHITE STRIPE PER DETAIL 38
O APPLY DOUBLE YELLOW CENTERLINE STRIPE PER DETAIL 22.
O REAPPLY TWO-WAY LEFT TURN LANE PER DETAIL 32.
O PROTECT IN PLACE EXISTING SIGN AND POST.
O EXISTING SIGN TO BE RELOCATED
10 FURNISH AND INSTALL SIGN AND POST AS SHOWN.
11 APPLY / REAPPLY THERMOPLASTIC LEFT TURN TYPE IV ARROW.
12 APPLY THERMOPLASTIC STOP LEGEND
13 REMOVE EXISTING SIGN AND POST.
14 APPLY THERMOPLASTIC SKIP LANE STRIPE PER DETAIL 14A.
15 APPLY THERMOPLASTIC 4' SOLID WHITE STRIPE.
