4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE CITY TRAFFIC SECTION TWO WORKING DAYS PRIOR TO
IMPLEMENTING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL PLAN TO ALLOW CITY STAFF TIME TO ADJUST TRAFFIC SIGNAL
DETECTION.
5. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN TWO WAY TRAFFIC AT ALL TIMES UNLESS OTHERWISE APPROVED
BY THE CITY TRAFFIC ENGINEER. QUALIFIED FLAGGERS SHALL BE USED WHEN THE ROADWAY IS
REDUCED TO A SINGLE LANE OR WHERE TRAFFIC MUST STOP FOR MOVEMENT OF EQUIPMENT.
6. IT SHALL BE n:E RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO MAINTAIN BARRICADES, DELINEATORS OR
OTHER TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES AT ALL TIMES.
7. THE WORK ZONE SHALL BE ROUTINELY INSPECTED AND MAINTAINED TO ENSURE PROPER VISIBILITY
AND OPERATION OF ALL TRAFFIC CONTROL AND ADVANCE WARNING DEVICES.
8. ALL EXISTING SIGNS, STRIDING OR PAVEMENT MARKINGS THAT ARE IN CONFLICT AND/OR NO LONGER
APPLICABLE SHALL BE REMOV-M.
9. SIGNS SHALL NOT BE PLACE[ IN EXCESS OF 15 FEET FROM THE EDGE OF THE TRAVELLED WAY.
PORTABLE SIGN STANDARDS SHALL BE TIED DOWN OR WEIGHTED TO PREVENT TOPPLING.
