2. CONSTR6CTION PERMITS SHALL BE OBTAINED FROM THE CITY OF FONTANA COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT, ENGINEERING DIVISION PRIOR TO THE START OF ANY WORK.
INSPECTION COORDINATION SHALL BE REQUESTED AT LEAST TWO WORKING DAYS PRIOR TO
THE START OF ANY WORK IN PUBLIC RIGHT—OF—WAY WITHIN THE CITY. CALL (909) 350-7610.
?. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONFORM TO ALL TRAFFIC CONTROL POLICIES, METHODS AND PROCEDURES
DESCRIBED IN THE MUTCD 2003 CALIFORNIA SUPPLEMENT SECTION 6 UNLESS OTHERWISE DIRECTED
BY THE CITY TRAFFIC ENGINEER.
4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE CITY TRAFFIC SECTION TWO WORKING DAYS PRIOR TO
IMPLEMENTING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL PLAN TO ALLOW CITY STAFF TIME TO ADJUST TRAFFIC SIGNAL
DETECTION.
5. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN TWO WAY TRAFFIC AT ALL TIMES UNLESS OTHERWISE APPROVED
BY THE CITY TRAFFIC ENGINEER. QUALIFIED FLAGGERS SHALL BE USED WHEN THE ROADWAY IS
REDUCED TO A SINGLE LANE OR WHERE TRAFFIC MUST STOP FOR MOVEMENT OF EQUIPMENT.
6. IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO MAINTAIN BARRICADES, DELINEATORS OR
OTHER TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES AT ALL TIMES.
7. THE WORK ZONE SHALL BE ROUTINELY INSPECTED AND MAINTAINED TO ENSURE PROPER VISIBILITY
AND OPERATION OF ALL TRAFFIC CONTROL AND ADVANCE WARNING DEVICES.
8. ALL EXISTING SIGNS, STRIPING OR PAVEMENT MARKINGS THAI" ARE IN CONFLICT AND/OR NO LONGER
APPLICABLE SHALL BE REMOVED BY SANDBLASTING.
9. SIGNS SHALL NOT BE PLACED IN EXCESS OF 15 FEET FROM THE EDGE OF THE TRAVELLED WAY.
PORTABLE SIGN STANDARDS SHALL BE TIED DOWN OR WEIGHTED TO PREVENT TOPPLING.
10. THE EXACT l Of ATION OF ALL TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES IS SUBJECT TO APPROVAL OF THE CITY TRAFFIC

SIGNING AND STRIPING PER THE SIGNING AND STRIPING PLANS.
17. ALL SIGNS SHALL BE REFLECTORIZED.
18. CONTRACTOR TO CONTACT TIM RASTEDT AT (909) 350-6649 TWO WORKING DAYS PRIOR TO ANY SIGN
INSTALLATION TO ALLOW CITY STAFF TO LOCATE EXISTING UNDERGROUND FACILITIES.
19. ALL W20-1 AND G20-2 CONSTRUCTION SIGNS SHALL REMAIN IN PLACE FOR THE DURATION OF THE PROJECT,
UNLESS OTHERWISE SHOWN TO BE RELOCATED ON THESE PLANS OR AS DIRECTED BY THE ENGINEER IN THE FIELD.
20. CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN PEDESTRIAN ACCESS AT ALL TIMES. WHEN PEDESTRIAN ACCESS CAN NO LONGER BE MAINTAINED
DUE TO CONSTRUCTION, CONTRACTOR SHALL INSTALL "SIDEWALK CLOSED" AND "SIDEWALK CLOSED AHEAD" SIGNS AT
LOCATIONS AS DIRECTED BY THE ENGINEER IN THE FIELD.
