GENERAL NOTES
1. ALL. WORK, MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT FOR TRAFFIC SIGNING AND STRIPING
SHALL CONFORM TO THESE PLANS AND THE STANDARDS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR
THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA.
2. PAINTING PROCEDURE SHALL CONFORM TO THE STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS AND
THE REQUIREMENTS OF THESE NOTES.
3. PAVEMENT MARKERS AND TRAFFIC LINE- (STRIPING) DIMENSIONS SHALL CONFORM
TO CALTRANS TRAFFIC MANUAL.
4. PAVEMENT LEGENDS AND ARROWS SHALL CONFORM TO THE STANDARDS AND
SPECIFICATIONS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA.
5. TRAFFIC STRIPING AND PAVEMENT MARKINGS ON NEW SURFACING SHALL BE IN
TWO (2) SEPARATE COATS. THE FIRST COAT IS TO BE APPLIED PRIOR TO
OPENING A STREET FOR PUBLIC USE. A FINAL COAT IS TO BE APPLIEDNO
EARLIER THAN THIRTY (.30) DAYS PRIOR TO ACCEPTANCE OF STREETS. IT WILL
BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE DEVELOPER TO MAINTAIN THE STRIPING AND
PAVEMENT MARKINGS, SHOULD ANY ADDITIONAL COATS BE NECESSARY.
6. PAINT USED FOR TRAFFIC STRIPING, CROSSWALKS, LIMIT LINES, ARROWS AND
PAVEMENT LEGENDS SHALL BE RAPID DRY TYPE PER SECTION 84-3 OF CALTRANS
STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS, UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE ON PLANS.
7. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH THE NECESSARY CONTROL POINTS FOR ALL
STRIPING AND MARKINGS AND SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COMPLETENESS
AND ACCURACY THEREOF TO *THE SATISFACTION OF THE COUNTY TRAFFIC
ENGINEER.
8. TRAFFIC SIGN DIMENSIONS, COLOR, AND LETTERING SHALL CONFORM TO THE
LATEST CALTRANS APPROVED SIGN SPECIFICATION SHEETS, SIGN CODES SHOWN
HEREON ARE TO CONFORM TO CALTRANS SPECIFICATION SHEET CODES. TRAFFIC
SIGN SIZE SHALL BE STANDARD UNLESS OTHERWISE INDICATED ON PLANS.
9. MATERIALS FOR SIGNS, POSTS AND MOUNTING HARDWARE, SIGN CONSTRUCTION
AND SIGN PANEL INSTALLATION SHALL MEET COUNTY REQUIREMENTS.
10. SIGN SHALL BE MOUNTED ON A "QUICK PUNCH POST" 2" X 2" ( 12 GA.) WITH
7/16" HOLES, 1" ON CENTERS, ON FOUR SIDES THAT CAN BE PUNCHED OUT.
LENGTH TO VARY WITH SIGN INSTALLATION TO MAINTAIN MINIMUM HEIGHTS.
THE ANCHOR SHALL BE A HEAVY DUTY ONE PIECE ANCHOR, 2 1/2" X *30" X 6
GAUGE, (NON—PERFORATED), TO FIT A 2" SQUARE STEEL POST, PREPUNCHED AT
MID—POINT OF ANCHOR WITH ONE 7/16" HOLE ON EACH SIDE, AND AT TOP.
11. THE QUANTITY OF TRAFFIC SIGNING AND STRIPING SHALL BE CONSIDERED ONE
LUMP SUM ITEM, COMPLETE, IN PLACE.. THE LUMP SUM PRICE IN THE BID
SHALL INCLUDE FULL COMPENSATION FOR FURNISHING ALL LABOR, MATERIALS,
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT FOR DOING ALL WORK INVOLVED IN, OR APPURTENANT TO,
THE INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC LINES AND/OR MARKINGS AND/OR MARKERS AND
TRAFFIC SIGNS AS REQUIRED ON THESE PLANS. ALL COSTS FOR TEMPORARY
PAVEMENT PAINTING, INCLUDING SANDBLASTING OF EXISTING LINES OR
MARKINGS, AND THE REMOVAL OF RAISED PAVEMENT MARKERS, SHALL BE AT THE
CONTRACTORS EXPENSE.
12. IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO MAINTAIN
BARRICADES, DELINEATORS OR OTHER TRAFFIC CONTROLS AT ALL TIMES.
13. CONTROL POINTS OR "CAT—TRACKING" IS TO BE'APPROVED BY THE TRAFFIC
SECTION PRIOR TO PAINTING.
14. ALL SIGNING, STRIPING AND PAVEMENT MARKINGS SHALL BE IN CONFORMANCE
WITH THE CURRENT EDITION OF THE TRAFFIC MANUAL, PUBLISHED BY THE STATE
OF CALIFORNIA, DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION. ALL PAVEMENT MARKINGS
SHALL BE THERMOPLASTIC UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED ON THE PLANS.
15. ALL SIGNS AND ROADSIDE MARKERS SHALL BE OF HIGH INTENSITY REFLECTIVE
SHEETING EXCEPT STOP SIGN SHALL BE DIAMOND GRADE SHEETING.
16. ALL CONFLICTING STRIPING AND PAVEMENT MARKINGS NOT SHOWN ON THE PLANS
SHALL BE REMOVED FROM THE PAVEMENT BY SANDBLASTING BY THE CONTRACTOR.
17. ALL CONFLICTING SIGNS SHALL BE EITHER REMOVED OR RELOCATED BY THE
CONTRACTOR. RELOCATABLE SIGNS SHALL BE INSTALLED AS SPECIFIED ON THE
