GENERAL NOTES:
1. ALL TRAFFIC CONTROL WORK AND DEVICES FOR CONSTRUCTION SHALL CONFORM TO THE "MANUAL OF TRAFFIC CONTROLS",
LATEST EDITION, CALTRANS STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS AND STANDARD PLANS, LATEST EDITION.
2. ALL WORK AREAS SHALL BE COMPLETELY CONED AND/OR DELINEATED AND/OR BARRICADED.
3. ALL ADVANCE WARNING SIGNS SHALL BE ILLUMINATED. ALL OTHER SIGNS SHALL BE EITHER REFLECTORIZED
OR ILLUMINATED.
4. CONSTRUCTION TRUCK TRAFFIC MERGING INTO TRAFFIC LANES SHALL BE BY USE OF QUALIFIED FLAGG.ER AND
APPROPRIATE SIGNAGE AS DIRECTED BY THE ENGINEER.
5. TRAFFIC SIGN DIMENSIONS, COLOR AND LETTERING SHALL CONFORM TO THE LATEST CALTRANS SIGN SPECIFICATION SHEETS.
6. A MINIMUM 12' TRAVEL LANE AND EMERGENCY ACCESS SHALL BE MAINTAINED AT ALL TIMES.
7. IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO MAINTAIN BARRICADES, DELINEATORS OR OTHER TRAFFIC
CONTROL AT ALL TIMES.
8. ALL CONFLICTING STRIPING AND PAVEMENT MARKINGS ARE TO BE REMOVED FROM THE PAVEMENT BY SAND BLASTING BY THE
CONTRACTOR.
9. UPON COMPLETION OF CONSTRUCTION, CONTRACTOR SHALL RESTORE ALL SIGNING, STRIPING, BARRICADES AND OTHER
TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES TO THEIR ORIGINAL CONDITION OR IN ACCORD WITH THE CONSTRUCTION PLANS.
10. EXACT LOCATION OF ALL EQUIPMENT AND CONTROL DEVICES TO BE DETERMINED BY THE ENGINEER. ADDITIONAL WARNING
AND/OR CONSTRUCTION SIGNS MAY BE REQUIRED BY THE ENGINEER.
11. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE CITY OF FONTANA TRAFFIC SECTION 48 HOURS IN ADVANCE FOR SIGNAL REPHASING.
12. SPECIAL INFORMATIONAL SIGNS SHALL BE 8" SERIES- "D" LETTERS (BLACK ON ORANGE) AND SHALL CONFORM TO THE "CALTRANS
TRAFFIC MANUAL", CHAPTER 4, LATEST EDITION, CALTRANS STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS AND STANDARD PLANS, LATEST EDITION.
13. ALL CONFLICTING SIGNS SHALL BE EITHER REMOVED, RELOCATED OR COVERED BY THE CONTRACTOR. RELOCATABLE SIGNS SHALL BE
INSTALLED AS .SPECIFIED ON THE PLANS OR AS DETERMINED IN THE FIELD BY THE COUNTY'S REPRESENTATIVE.
14. ALL EXISTING STRIPING AND PAVEMENT MARKINGS NOT SHOWN ON THE PLAN, IF OBLITERATED BY AC OVERLAY, SHALL BE REPLACED IN
CONFORMANCE WITH THE CURRENT EDITION OF THE TRAFFIC MANUAL PUBLISHED BY THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA D.O.T.
