The purpose of this drainage study is to determine the drainage facility requirements for the
on-site improvements Tract 17842 - on-site in Fontana. Specifically, the subject project is
single-family Tract 16137, west of
located south of Sierra Lakes Parkway and existing
Beech Avenue and existing single-family residences, north of a future "Park -N -Ride"
parking lot, Highland Channel, and the 210 Freeway, and east of proposed Hemlock Avenue
and vacant land, in the City of Fontana, County of San Bernardino, California.

The subject site will consist of 201 condominimum. residential units, with an approximate
by sheet flow generally in a south
area of 16 acres. Proposed drainage is overland and
westerly direction. Per the city's master plan of drainage, the site is situated in an area
tributary to the Highland Channel at Vine Avenue (Hemlock Avenue). The site is not
in
subject to off-site runoff. The proposed system will also drain to the off-site storm system
Vine Avenue to be constructed by this project (see separate study)..
Per city and county policy, the project is conditioned to provide an interim detention basin to
levels below the -developed condition. A detention basin is
mitigate developed runoff to pre

drainage study.
The 100 -year storm event was modeled in the rational method hydrolo gy calculations in this

study. The rational method hydrologic model, as defined by
Bernardino County, was followed in the determination of storm runoff. AES software was
utilized for hydrology calculations. Additional street flow analysis and catch basin sizing

In some cases, catch basins will not pickup all street runoff (most efficient case) with
the mainline
overflow conveyed to downstream catch basins. However, conservatively,
all flow is picked up per the hydrology (more upstream).
