HomeMy WebLinkAboutI-10 Channel Capacity Report Vol 4 of 4 1 I -10 Channel Capacity Analysis OC -F60 -401 San Sevaine Channel and I -10 (Mulberry) Channel Confluence Analysis Hydrology The basis for the Q100 discharges was the original San Sevaine watershed flood routing analysis performed by Boyle on May 10, 1995. These calculations are located on the study CD with the name tb167 -1.dat and were computed using AES software (1986 Manual), version 3.7A, release date 6/01/94. The description of the study as identified on the calculations is: San Sevaine Channel Hydrology Ultimate Conditions Multiple Day with Storm Center (Table 6.7) Storm Center No. 1 These calculation were revised to separate the Valley Blvd. /San Bernardino Ave. and I -10 drainage areas from the rest of the San Sevaine Channel watershed at node number 2834. Refer to portion of calculations: FLOW PROCESS FROM NODE 2316.00 TO NODE 2834.00 IS CODE = 1 (Watershed area = 5150 acres) Keeping the same watershed area at this node (5150 acres), the I -10 channel watershed is about 4190 acres and the Valley Blvd. /San Bernardino Ave. consists of 960 acres. These areas were added to stream number 1 as opposed to confluencing them using stream numbers. The peak discharges from the revised calculations are as follows: Location Q100 discharge Total Q100 discharge San Sevaine Channel — upstream 17,123 cfs of confl (chan flow only) Valley B1 /San Bernardino Ave. 668 cfs area San Sevaine Channel — upstream 17,791 cfs (503.785 cms) of confluence I -10 (Mulberry) Channel 2,916 cfs [unadjusted] I -10 (Mulberry) Channel 2,703 cfs (76.540 cms) [adjusted to get discharges to add at confluence] San Sevaine Channel — 20,494 cfs (580.325 cms) downstream of confluence The location of the associated hydrology map (cad drawing) is Y.• IS2011301 Calcs11995 Final San Sevaine Hydrology \SEV- MAP1.dwg.
