THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONFORM TO ALL TRAFFIC CONTROL POLICIES, METHODS AND PROCEDURES DESCRIBED IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA MANUAL OF TRAFFIC CONTROLS, LATEST NON—METRIC EDITION UNLESS OTHERWISE DIRECTED BY THE CITY TRAFFIC ENGINEER. 4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE CITY TRAFFIC SECTION TWO WORKING DAYS PRIOR TO IMPLEMENTING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL PLAN TO ALLOW CITY STAFF TIME TO ADJUST TRAFFIC SIGNAL DETECTION. 5. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN TWO WAY TRAFFIC AT ALL TIMES UNLESS OTHERWISE APPROVED BY THE CITY TRAFFIC ENGINEER. QUALIFIED FLAGGERS SHALL BE USED WHEN THE ROADWAY IS REDUCED TO A SINGLE LANE OR WHERE TRAFFIC MUST STOP FOR MOVEMENT OF EQUIPMENT. 6. IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO MAINTAIN BARRICADES. DELINEATORS OR OTHER TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES AT ALL TIMES. 7. THE WORK ZONE SHALL BE ROUTINELY INSPECTED AND MAINTAINED TO ENSURE PROPER VISIBILITY AND OPERATION OF ALL TRAFFIC CONTROL AND ADVANCED TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES. 8a ALL EXISTING OR TEMPORARY SIGNSP STRIPING OR PAVEMENT MARKINGS THAT ARE IN CONFLICT AND/OR NO LONGER APPLICABLE SHALL BE REMOVED. 9. SIGNS SHALL NOT BE PLACED IN EXCESS OF 15 FEET FROM THE EDGE OF THE TRAVELED WAY. PORTABLE SIGN STANDARDS SHALL BE TIED DOWN OR WEIGHTED TO PREVENT TOPPLING. 10. THE EXACT LOCATION OF ALL TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES IS SUBJECT TO APPROVAL OF THE CITY TRAFFIC ENGINEER. ADDITIONAL WARNING, CONSTRUCTION SIGNS OR TRAFFIC SAFETY EQUIPMENT MAY BE REQUIRED BY THE CITY TRAFFIC ENGINEER. 11. ALL WORK AREAS SHALL BE CLEARLY IDENTIFIED AND DELINEATED WITH CONES, PORTABLE DELINEATORS AND/OR BARRICADES. ALL CONES SHALL BE A MINIMUM OF 28 INCHES IN HEIGHT. ALL DELINEATORS SHALL BE A MINIMUM OF 36 INCHES IN HEIGHT. 12. ALL SIGNS SHALL BE REFLECTORIZED OR ILLUMINATED. 13. TRAFFIC SIGNS DIMENSIONS. COLOR AND LETTERING SHALL CONFORM TO THE LATEST CALTRANS SIGN SPECIFICATION SHEET. SIGN CODES SHOWN HEREON ARE TO CONFORM TO CAL TRANS SPECIFICATION SHEET CODES. TRAFFIC SIGN SIZE SHALL BE STANDARD UNLESS OTHERWISE SHOWN ON THE PLANS. 14. ALL SIGNS SHALL BE MOUNTED ON GALVANIZED STEEL POSTS, UNLESS OTHERWISE SHOWN ON THE PLANS, PER CITY STANDARD DETAIL 139. 15. ALL FLASHING YELLOW WARNING LIGHTS SHALL BE TYPE 'A' PORTABLE. LENS DIRECTED. ENCLOSED AND MOUNTED AT A MINIMUM HEIGHT OF THREE FEET, MEASURED -FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE LENS TO THE UNDERLYING SURFACE. 16. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN ACCESS FOR LOCAL RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES AT ALL TIMES. A MINIMUM 12 FOOT LANE SHALL BE MAINTAINED AT ALL TIMES IN THE CLOSURE AREA FOR RESIDENTS AND EMERGENCY VEHICLES. 17. UPON COMPLETION OF CONSTRUCTION, CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE CITY TRAFFIC ENGINEER, ANS INSTALL SIGNING.AND STRIPING PER THE SIGNING AND STRIPING PLAN. 18. CONTRACTOR TO CONTACT TIM RASTEDT AT (909) 350-6649 TWO WORKING DAYS PRIOR TO ANY SIGN INSTALLATION TO ALLOW CITY STAFF TO LOCATE EXISTING UNDERGROUND FACILITIES.
