GENERAL NOTES:
I. ALL WORK, MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT FOR TRAFFIC SIGNING AND STRIPING SHALL
CONFORM TO THESE PLANS, THE CURRENT STANDARD PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
FOR THE CITY OF FONTANA, THE SPECIAL PROVISIONS, AND THE STANDARD PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (DATED, JULY 1999).
2. PAVEMENT MARKINGS & LEGENDS SHALL CONFORM TO THE CITY OF FONTANA STANDARD STENCILS.
3. ALL STRIPING AND PAVEMENT MARKINGS SHALL BE ALKYD THERMOPLASTIC (SEE SPECIAL PROVISIONS).
A. TRAFFIC SIGN DIMENSIONS, COLOR AND LETTERING SHALL CONFORM TO THE LATEST CALTRANS
SIGN SPECIFICATIONS SHEETS. SIGN CODES SHOWN HEREON ARE TO CONFORM TO CALTRANS
SPECIFICATION SHEET CODES. TRAFFIC SIGN SIZE SHALL BE STANDARD UNLESS OTHERWISE
SHOWN ON THE PLANS.
5. ALL SIGNS SHALL BE MOUNTED ON A GALVANIZED STEEL POST, UNLESS OTHERWISE SHOWN,
PER CITY STANDARD DRAWING 139.

6. IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO MAINTAIN BARRICADES, DELINEATORS
OR OTHER TRAFFIC CONTROL AT ALL TIMES (SEE SPECIAL PROVISIONS).
7. CONTROL POINTS OR "CAT -TRACKING" SHALL BE APPROVED BY THE ENGINEER 24 FOURS PRIOR
TO PAVEMENT STRIPING APPLICATION.
8. CONFLICTING STRIPING/MARKINGS SHALL BE REMOVED BY METHOD AS DESCRIBED IN SPECIAL
PROVISIONS.
9. CROSSWALKS SHALL HAVE 10' BETWEEN CENTERLINES OF 300mm (12") STRIPES PER CITY STANDARD
DRAWING 1006.
