2. WHEN TECHNICAL CONFLICT IS FOUND TO EXIST IN THE CON7RACT DOCUMENTS THAT CANNOT BE
RESOLVED BY REFERENCE TO PRECEDENCE PROVISIONS IN THE "GREEN BOOK", THE CON7RACTOR
SHALL IMMEDIATELY REPORT SAID CONFLICT TO 7HE CITY ENGINEER FOR RESOLUTION.

GUARDED BY SHORING, SLOPING OF THE GROUND OR OTHER APPROVED MEANS PURSUANT TO THE
REQUIREMENTS OF THE DIVISION OF INDUS7RIAL SAFETY OF THE STA 7F OF CALIFORNIA,
TRENCHES LESS THAN FIVE (5) FEET SHALL ALSO BE GUARDED WHEN THE P07EN77AL EXISTS
