Contractor shall be responsible to verify the existing site conditions and to nofify the City Engineer and Landscape Architect of any differences between the actual conditions and those shown on the plans. B. The Contractor shall review the drawings prior to construction and fabrication and notify the City Engineer and Landscape Architect of any discrepancies before proceeding with the work. C. Only "approved" drawings shall be used for the construction of this project. No changes of, modifications to the plans shall be made without the prior approval of the City Engineer and Landscape Architect. D. All numeric and written dimensions shall have precedence over all scale dimensions. E. Details and notes on the drawings take precedence over typical details and general notes. F� All construction shall conform to the approved plans, and the most current U.B.C. Chapter 33 unless otherwise indicated. In the absence of a specified standard or specification, work shall conform to the latest edition of the Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction. G. No trees, other than those shown, shall be removed without prior approval of the City. H. Areas to receive reconstructive fill shall be cleared of vegetation as directed per plans. Major roots shall be left intact where possible, as recommended by the Landscape Architect. 1. Other areas to be cleared for construction shall be carefully cleared to the minimum area required for competent construction. J. All areas disturbed by construction, or by erosion prior to or during construction, shall be revegetated and protected in accordance with the erosion control section of these plans. K. Contractor shall take all care to prevent disruption of project site in areas outside construction zone. L. The contractor shall notify the City Engineer at least 48 hours before commencing construction. M. The contractor shall employ all labor, equipment, and methods required to prevent his operations from producing dust in amounts damaging to property, cultivated or native vegetation, and domestic and non-dornestic animals or causing a nuisance to persons occupying buildings in the vicinity of the job site. The contractor shall be responsible for any damage caused by dust resulting from his operations. N. Construction line and grade stakes shall be set by a licensed Civil Engineer or Surveyor in the State of California. 0. All protective devices to be installed by the contractor, shall be in place at the end of each work day. P. Contractor shall refer to materials specifications throughout the approved plan set. Any substitutions of the materials specified in these drawings shall require written approval from the City Engineer. Q. The Contractor shall notify the City Engineer, a minimum of 48 hours in advance of the start of work. There will be inspection of this project to ensure strict adherence to these drawings and specifications. During the course of work, the Contractor shall be responsible for calling the City Engineer for testing and inspection 24 hours in advance. Work not properly tested and inspected will be subject to rejection. R. Work in and along public streets, once begun, shall proceed to completion without delay so as to provide minimum inconvenience to adjacent property owner and to the traveling public. S. The Contractor shall take all necessary precautions to protect adjacent properties from storm water runoff and or deposition of debris resulting from construction of this project. T. All existing trees to remain shall be protected from damage throughout construction. No materials or equipment shall be stored within the canopy of the dripline of the tree. U. Contractor shall be responsible for the verification of location of all existing utilities in the field prior to construction. All utilities shall be protected and repaired by the Contractor if damaged. V. The Contractor shall be responsible for notification of all utility companies 48 hours prior to the beginning of work. Contractor shall clear and grub all areas within the limit of work as determined by the contract base bid and any bid alternates awarded.
