1. WEED ERADICATION:
A. WEED ERADICATION PROCEDURES: ALL IRRIGATED PLANTING AREAS SHALL RECEIVE THE
FOLLOWING NNEED ERADICATION PROCEDURES AFTER THE IRRIGATION SYSTEM HAS BEEN INSTALLED
AND ACCEPTED AND AFTER ALL BOXED AND 15 GALLON TREES HAVE BEEN INSTALLED AND
ACCEPTED BUT PRIOR TO THE INSTALLATION OF SMALLER TREES, SHRUBS, GROUND COVER FROM
FQTS (OR HYDROMULCH MIXES.
B. MANUALLY REMOVE ALL EXISTING VEGETATION AND [DISPOSE OF IT OFF SITE.
C. FERTILIZE ALL PLANTING AREAS WITH A COMMERCIAL FERTILIZER AT THE RATE OF THREE
HUNDRED POUNDS (300) PER ACRE AND BEGIN WATERING PROCESS.
D. WATER ALL PLANTING AREAS THOROUGHLY AND CONTINUOUSLY FOR A PERIOD OF THREE
(3) WEEKS. THE LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT SHALL APPROVE A SPECIFIC WATERING DURATION AND
FREQUENCY PROGRAM DESIGNED TO GERMINATE ALL RESIDUAL WEED SEEDS.
E. DISCONTINUE WATERING PROCESS FOR TWO (2) DAYS AND THEN APPLY A CONTACT WEED
13LLEFZ AT MAXIMUM LABEL RATES. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL APPLY THE ABOVE AGENT TO A
7- PLANTING AREA OF APPROXIMATELY 1000 SO. FT. AND THEN EVALUATE EFFECTIVE COVERAGE OF
NVEED SPECIES INVOLVED. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAKE APPLICATION ADJUSTMENT SUCH AS
THE INCLUSION OF ADDITIONAL SPREADING AGENT OF! SPRAYING AGENT OR SPRAYING TECHNIQUES
IN ORDER TO MAXIMIZE EFFECTIVE USE OF THE CONTACT WEED KILLER AS SPECIFIED ABOVE. NO
IRRIGATION WATER SHALL BE APPLIED FOR A MINIMUM OF FOUR (4) DAYS FOLLOWING
APPLICATION OF' THEE CONTACT WEED KILLER.
LIMIT OF WORK F. WATER ALL PbANTING AREAS THOROUGHLY AND CONTINUOUSLY FOR A PERIOD OF THREE (3)
ADDITIONAL WEEKS. A SHORTER WATERING PERIOD MAY BE PERMISSIBLE Kr THE DISCRETION OF

FREQUENTLY TO MAINTAIN OPTIMUM MOISTURE CONTENT FOR MAXIMUM GERMINATION. AT ALL TIMES
THE IRRIGATION SYSTEM MUST BE OBSERVED WHILE IN OPERATION. IRRIGATION SEQUENCE MUST BE
DETERMINED BY AIR TEMPERATURE, PREVAILING WIND VELOCITY, SOIL TEXTURE,, ORIENTAION AND
OTHER LOGISTICAL PROBLEMS. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT THE SOIL BE KEPT MOIST AT ALL TIMES
DURING THE: GERMINATION PERIOD. THE LIGHT, FREQUENT IRRIGATION SEQUENCE SHOULD CONTINUE
