1. Contractor shall be responsible for consulting with Site Superintendent,
appropriate agencies and plans, in order to determine the location of all
underground utilities, pipes, and structures. Contractor shall flake sole
responsibility for any cost incurred due to damage of said utilities.
2. All property lines and lot lines shall be verified prior to commencing work.
3. See civil engineer's drawings for all finish/grade elevations.
4. Contractor is responsible for identifying the accurate location of property Line, Association
boundaries, right-of-way Imes and shall notify the landscape architect of any decrepancies.
5. Contractor shall not willfully proceed with construction as designed when it is
obvious that obstructions, existing trees, area discrepancies and/or grade differences exist that
may not have been known during design. Such conditions shall be immediately brought
to the attention of the owner's authorized representative. The contractor shall
assume full responsibility for all necessary revisions due to failure to give such
notifications.
6. Contractor shall be responsible for any coordination with subcontractors as
required to accomplish all construction operations. All piping, conduit, sleeves, and
etc., shall be set in place prior to installation of construction Items.
7. Refer to City of Fontana standard plans and specifications where applicable.
8. Contractor is responsible for replacement of any existing materials that are
damaged during construction.
9. All dimensions are form outside face ofaving, walls, curbs and etc., unless otherwise
noted on plans. All baselines are from face of building unless otherwise noted.
10. All construction items formed with steel in place and/or compacted subgrade
shall be observed and approved prior to installation by the owners authorized
representative.
11. These plans are for the purpose of construction of referenced site construction features
detailed herein.
12. Refer to the civil engineers drawings for the vertical controls of all construciton features
and for the horizontal controls and features not described herein.
13. Refer to the civil engineers drawings and/or the geotechnical report for all details and structural
specifications regarding: concrete thickness, presoaking depth, reinforcement, edge conditions,
joint requirements, joint spacing and baselsub-base specification Information.
14. Expansion joints shall be placed in all cases where concrete paving abuts
builidng or concrete curb.
15. All callouts and dimensions are once typical per sheet.
16. All existing trees and tree preservation areas shall bepprotected during construction with temporary
snow fencing as follows. Snow fence protection shall be placed around clusters of trees to be retained.
Post shall be metal 'T" post at 8'-0" o.c. Fencing shall be orange fiberglass or similar material.
Contractor shall assume full responsibility for damage to existing trees.
17. Contractor shat) stake the locations of all sidewalks, wall or any hardscape for approval by the landscape architect
or owner's representative prior to commencing work.
18. Contractor shall layout walks at lest 5' away from existing trees.
19. Sidewalk layout to be adjusted to avoid existing trees.
20. Contractor to layout curvilinear walkways so as to make smooth and continuous transitions.
21. Dimensions taken from road edge are to back of curb (B.O.C.) unless otherwise noted.
22. Contractor shall submit 2'x 2' (or as noted in the specifications), samples, with
joints in place of all paving,aving alternates, finishes and colors. All samples
shall be approved by owners authorized representative, prior to construction.
23. Paver Submittals - Contractor to provide samples of all paver unit. Type, finish, and
color for approval by Landscape Architect. Contractor shall allow adequate time from
time of submittal to make adjustments to color and paver type as required. Contractor
shall submit all color samples at one time to expedite review and approval process.
24. Precast Concrete Submittals - Contractor to submit shop drawings for all pre -cast
concrete items for review and approval by Landscape Architect.
25. Contractor shall install a 6" wide concrete mow curb to separate turf from shrub areas per City standard detail.

LEGEND:
1. Rode sizes, unless otherwise specified shall be:
Cobblestones: Max 12" to Min 6" with one side flat
No more than 50% of any one size.
2. 11"- 1112" Min of cobble thickness shall be embedded in
6" pea gravel concrete bed.
3. A sample area, Min 10 scift shall be approved by the city
inspector prior to proceeding with the remaining rock work.
4. Final resting position of all rocks shall be approved by the
city inspector,
5. Rodes shall be smooth, rounded, free of objectionable
disfigurations and iron content as approved by the city inspector.
6. Concrete shall be class 520-D-2500 4" slump concrete.
7. Where curb elevations vary install drain to low curb.
8. No joint greater than 1" between rocks will be acceptable, 4"
filler rocks will be accepted to maintain the 1" joint.
9. Where rock borders turf area, place 1" concrete edge between
back of rock and turf.
10. Wire brush all joints after the installation of the rocks. After concrete
has set, clean the residue frome surfaces of rocks.
