CONSTRUCTION NOTES
1. CONTRACTOR SHALL NOT WILLFULLY PROCEED WITH CONSTRUCTION AS DESIGNED WHEN IT IS OBVIOUS
THAT UNKNOWN OBSTRUCTIONS AND/OR GRADE DIFFERENCES EXIST THAT MAY NOT HAVE BEEN KNOWN
DURING DESIGN. SUCH CONDITIONS SHALL BE IMMEDIATELY BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE
LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ASSUME FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR ALL NECESSARY
REVISIONS DUE TO A FAILURE TO GIVE SUCH NOTIFICATION.
2. WALL AND FENCE LAYOUT SHALL CONFORM TO PROPERTY LINE AND TOP OF SLOPE CONDITIONS. STAKING
FOR LOCATION OF WALLS AND FENCES SHALL BE PROVIDED BY THE CIVIL ENGINEER PRIOR TO EXCAVATION
OF FOOTINGS.
3. ALL FORMS AND ALIGNMENTS OF PAVING, WALL! FENCE LAYOUT, AND SPECIAL PAVING AREAS SHALL BE
REVIEWED AND APPROVED BY THE OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE PRIOR TO POURING (GIVE A MINIMUM OF 48
HOURS NOTICE).
4. FOR SITE GRADING, SEE CIVIL ENGINEER'S GRADING PLAN.
5. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING HIMSELF FAMILIAR WITH ALL UNDERGROUND UTILITIES,
PIPES AND STRUCTURES. CONTRACTOR SHALL TAKE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY FOR COST INCURRED DUE TO
DAMAGE AND REPLACEMENT OF SAID UTILITIES.
6. CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE IRRIGATION SLEEVE LOCATIONS UNDER PAVED AREAS AS REQUIRED.
REFER TO IRRIGATION PLANS.
7. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY COORDINATION WITH OTHER SUBCONTRACTORS AS
REQUIRED TO ACCOMPLISH CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS AS SHOWN.
8. PRIOR TO PLACING CONCRETE, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SUFFICIENTLY COMPACT THE SUB -GRADE AND
PROVIDE SUBSURFACE PREPARATION PER SPECIFICATIONS.
9. CONCRETE SURFACES SHALL BE FOAMED WITH LONG, SMOOTH GRADIENT TO REDUCE DIPS, ABRUPT
CHANGES AND SHARP TRANSITIONS.
10. ALL CURVILINEAR WALKS, CURBS, HEADER BOARDS, AND WALLS SHALL HAVE A CONTINUOUS SMOOTH CURVE
WHERE APPLICABLE. ALL FORMS MUST BE INSPECTED AND APPROVED PRIOR TO BEGINNING THAT PHASE OF
WORK.
11. IF IN THE FIELD, SCALED DIMENSIONS CONFLICT WITH STATED GRADES AND/OR ELEVATIONS, THE DESIGN
ELEVATION SHALL TAKE PRECEDENCE.
12. ALL WALKWAY DIMENSIONS ARE TAKEN FROM FACE OF CURB TYP.
13. CONTRACTOR TO REFER TO IRRIGATION PLANS FOR SLEEVE LOCATIONS.
