SUG"NING, STRIPING AND PAVEMENT MARKINGS
1. All work, materials and equipment for signing, striping and pavement markings shall
conform to these.flans and the Standard S ecifications for the City of Fontana and
the Standard Specfications of the State of California (Caltrans) dated July 1992.
2. Pavement markers and traffic striping dimensions shall conform to Caltrans Standard
Plans dated July 1982.
3. All striping, pavement markings and crosswalks shall be Alkyd Thermoplastic per the Special
Provisions for this project.
4. Traffic si,qn dimensions, color and lettering shall conform to the latest Caltrans sign
Specifications sheets. Sign codes shown hereon are to conform to Caltrans specifications
sheet codes. Traffic sign size shall be standard unless otherwise shown on the plans.
5. All signs shall be mounted on a galvanized steel post as shown on the City of Fontana
Standard Detail No. 139.
6. The Contractor shall be responsible for maintaining barricades, delineators or traffic
control at all times.
7. The Contractor shall remove all conflictingstriping and pavement markings from the
pavement by wet sandblasting or any mehod that will not damage the pavement surface
andq a roved by th Engineer (See Special Provisions). The removals shall include of
roadsile avement mar�ers.
B. Crosswalks shall be 10' between centerlines of 12" stripes as shown on the City of Fontana
Standard Detail No. 1006.
