2. CONSTRUCTION PERMITS SHALL BE OBTAINED FROM THE CITY OF FONTANA
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT, ENGINEERING DIVISION PRIOR TO THE
START OF ANY WORK. INSPECTION COORDINATION SHALL BE REQUESTED AT
LEAST TWO WORKING DAYS PRIOR TO THE START OF ANY WORK IN PUBLIC

3. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONFORM TO ALL TRAFFIC CONTROL POLICIES, METHODS

PRIOR TO IMPLEMENTING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL PLAN TO ALLOW CITY STAFF TIME
TO ADJUST TRAFFIC SIGNAL DETECTION.
5. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN TWO WAY TRAFFIC AT ALL TIMES UNLESS
OTHERWISE APPROVED BY THE CITY TRAFFIC ENGINEER. QUALIFIED FLAGGERS
SHALL BE USED WHEN THE ROADWAY IS REDUCED TO A SINGLE LANE OR WHERE
TRAFFIC MUST STOP FOR MOVEMENT OF EQUIPMENT.
6. IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO MAINTAIN BARRICADES,
DELINEATORS OR OTHER TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES AT ALL TIMES.
7. THE WORK ZONE SHALL BE ROUTINELY INSPECTED AND MAINTAINED TO ENSURE
PROPER VISIBILITY AND OPERATION OF ALL TRAFFIC CONTROL AND ADVANCE
WARNING DEVICES.
8. ALL EXISTING SIGNS, STRIPING, OR PAVEMENT MARKINGS THAT ARE IN CONFLICT
AND/OR NO LONGER APPLICABLE SHALL BE REMOVED AS DIRECTED BY THE CITY
TRAFFIC ENGINEER.
9. SIGNS SHALL NOT BE PLACED IN EXCESS OF 15 FEET FROM THE EDGE OF THE
TRAVELLED WAY. PORTABLE SIGN STANDARDS SHALL BE TIED DOWN OR WEIGHTED
TO PREVENT TOPPLING.
10. THE EXACT LOCATION OF ALL TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES IS SUBJECT TO APPROVAL
OF THE CITY TRAFFIC ENGINEER. ADDITIONAL WARNING, CONSTRUCTION SIGNS OR
