-CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING HIMSELF FAMILIAR

IT IS OBVIOUS THAT UNKNOWN OBSTRUCTIONS, AREA DISCREPANCIES

DURING DESIGN. SUCH GOND I TI ONS SHALL BE IMMEDIATELY BROUGHT TO
THE ATTENTION OF THE OWNER. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ASSUME FULL
RESPONSIBILITY FOR ALL NECESSARY REVISIONS DUE TO FAILURE TO

3 -CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY COORDINATION WITH
SUBCONTRACTORS AS REQUIRED TO ACCOMPLISH PLANTING OPERATIONS.

DIMENSIONS AND BACKFILL REQUIREMENTS.
S -UPON COMPLETION OF INSTALLATION, A MAINTENANCE PERIOD Or-

F51XTY (60) DAYS 15 REQU I RED PRIOR TO F I NAL ACCEPTANCE
OF THE WORK BY THE OWNER. MAINTENANCE SHALL INCLUDE
MOWING, WEEDING, IRRIGATION, PRUNING, RAISING TREE ROOT BALLS
WHICH SETTLE BELOW GRADE, FERTILIZING AND APPLYING . SUCH SPRAYS
AS ARE NECE55ARY FOR PROPER CARE AND UPKEEP. MAINTENANCE AL50
INCLUDES ALL REPAIRS, REPLACEMENT, GLEANING AND ADJUSTING
NECESSARY TO KEEP THE IRRIGATION SYSTEM IN GOOD WORKING ORDER
WITH PROPER COVERAGE. COMMENCEMENT DATE FOR THE
MAINTENANCE PERIOD SHALL BE APPROVED IN WRITING BY THE OWNER'S
REPRESENTATIVE. MAINTENANCE PERIOD SHALL BE ADEQUATE TO VERIFY
PLANT CHARACTERISTICS AND ESTABLISHMENT.
6 -ALL PLANT MATERIAL SHALL BE APPROVED FOR QUAL i TY BY THE
OWNER AND CITY REPRESENTATIVE PRIOR TO INSTALLATION.
7 -FINAL LOCATION OF ALL PLANT MATERIAL SHALL BE SUBJECT TO THE
APPROVAL OF THE OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE. LOCATION SHALL BE APPROVED
PRIOR TO EXCAVATION.
5 -ALL TREES LOCATED LESS THAN 5' FROM ANY WALL5, HARD50APE OR
PAVING SHALL BE INSTALLED W 1 TH ROOT BARRI ER5 PER CITY OF FONTANA

01 -LANDSCAPE CONTRACTOR TO RECEIVE SITE GRADED WITHIN 1/10 OF A

TO COMMENDING WORK. STARTING WORK IMPLIES AN ACCEPTANCE OF
GRADE. F I NAL GRADES SHALL BE ADJUSTED AS DIRECTED BY OWNER.
ALL GRADING SHALL BE COMPLETE PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF PLANTING
OPERATIONS. ALL MOUNDS IN PLANT AREAS SHALL NOT EXCEED 3:1
SLOPE.
10 -CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY OWNER SEVEN (7) DAYS PRIOR TO
COMMENCEMENT OF WORK TO COORDINATE PROJECT INSPECTION
SCHEDULES AS REQUIRED BY SPECIFICATIONS.
II -ALL AREAS NOT PLANTED IN TURF, GROUND COVER, OR HYDROSEED,
WHICH ARE LE55 THAN 3:1 SLOPE SHALL RECEIVE; 4" MIN. DEEP OF
SPECIFIED MULCH. SUBMIT SAMPLE TO DISTRICT PRERESENTATIVE
PRIOR TO APPL I CATION.
12 -WEED CONTROL:
KILL AND REMOVE ALL EXISTING WEEDS FROM SITE AREA. THE
CONTRACTOR SHALL GERMINATE AND DESTROY EXISTING WEED
SEEDS BEFORE PREPARING AREAS FOR PLANTING . S UFF I C I ENT
WATER SHALL BE APPLIED TO. CAUSE WEED SEEDS TO SPROUT.
WEEDS SHALL THEN BE DESTROYED AND REMOVED BEFORE THEY
HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO SET SEED.
13 -SOIL TEST:
AFTER ALL SOIL HAS BEEN IMPORTED TO THE SITE BUT BEFORE SOIL
PREPARATION, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN A SOIL TEST FOR
AGRICULTURAL SUITABILITY AND FERTILITY PREPARED BY A CALIFORNIA
ASSOG I AT I ON OF ASMICULTURAL LABORATORIES MEMBER. FURNISH I
COPY OF TEST RESULTS, TO THE OWNER AND G I TY REPRESENTATIVE.
14-501L PREPARATION:
THE FOLLOWING SOIL AMENDMENTS SHALL BE FOR BID PURPOSES ONLY.
F I NAL SOIL AMENDMENT TYPES AND QUANTITIES SHALL BE BASED ON
SOIL TEST RECOMMENDATIONS. ROTOTILL THE FOLLOWING AMENDMENTS
