STD. DETAIL 106A
1. ALL SUB -GRADE SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED TRUE TO GRADE AND TO CROSS SECTION.
SUB -GRADE TOLERANCE FOR SIDEWALKS, CURBS, AND CURB AND GUTTERS, SHALL NOT
VARY FROM THE SPECIFIED GRADE AND CROSS SECTION. IT SHALL BE WATERED AND
THOROUGHLY COMPACTED BEFORE PLACING ANY CONCRETE. (73-1.02).
2. ALL SUB -GRADE MATERIAL SHALL BE COMPACTED TO A RELATIVE COMPACTION OF 95%
SHALL BE OBTAINED FOR A MINIMUM DEPTH OF 12" (INCHES) BELOW THE GRADING PLANE
(19.5.03). THE 95 PERCENT RELATIVE COMPACTION SHALL EXTEND FROM BACK OF CURB TO
BACK OF CURB. 90 PERCENT IN ALL PARKWAYS. AFTER COMPACTION AND TRIMMING, THE
SUB -GRADE SHALL BE FIRM AND FREE OF UNSUITABLE MATERIALS AND UNYIELDING.
3. ALL CONCRETE SHALL BE CLASS "B" (5 SACK) MIX, UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED. AND (6
SACK FOR STRUCTURES AND EXTRUDED CURBS) 73-1.01 & 90-1.01.

6. ALL SIDEWALKS, CURBS AND CURB AND GUTTERS SHALL HAVE WEAKENED PLANE JOINTS "tN
- LINE" AND SPACED AT A 10' MAXIMUM AND 1/4" EXPANSION MATERIAL EVERY SIXTY FEET

7. ALL EXTRUDED CURB, CURB & GUTTERS, SHALL HAVE WEAKENED PLANE JOINTS SPACED AT
A 10' MAXIMUM AND 1/4" EXPANSION JOINTS MATERIAL EVERY SIXTY FEET (60') 73-1.06 AND
73-1.058.
S. A NORMAL EXPANSION JOINT MAY BE OMITTED IF IT FALLS WITHIN 10' OF AN ADDITIONAL
EXPANSION JOINT.
9. -WEAKENED PLANE JOINT SHALL BE 1" OR MORE IN DEPTH ON ALL SIDEWALKS AND 2" OR
MORE IN DEPTH ON ALL CURBS AND GUTTERS. (73-1.05).

HUMPS, SAGS, OR IRREGULARITIES AND IMPERFECTIONS. WHEN A STRAIGHT EDGE, 10 FEET
LONG IS LAID ON THE TOP, FACE, GUTTER, THE SURFACE SHALL NOT VARY MORE THAN 0.01
FROM THE EDGE OF THE STRAIGHT EDGE. (73-1.04 AND 73-1.06).
