1. ALL WORK SHALL BE DONE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THESE PLANS AND SPECIAL PROVISIONS PER
SB 35-98.
2. CONSTRUCTION PERMITS SHALL BE OBTAINED FROM THE CITY OF FONTANA ENGINEERING DIVISION
PRIOR TO START OF ANY WORK WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS. ALL INSPECTIONS SHALL BE REQUESTED
AT LEAST TWO (2) WORKING DAYS PRIOR TO THE START OF ANY WORK. PHONE (909) 350-6632.
3. STATIONING REFERS TO THE CENTERLINES OF STREETS UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.
4. STERILANT IS REQUIRED UNDER ALL NEW A.C. PAVEMENT.
5. THE WALLS AND FACES OF ALL EXCAVATIONS GREATER THAN FIVE (5) FEET IN DEPTH SHALL BE EFFECTIVELY
GUARDED BY AN APPROVED SHORING SYSTEM.
6. ALL BACKFILL AND SUBGRADE SHALL BE CERTIFIED BY THE SOILS ENGINEER. MATERIALS AND METHODS
ARE SUBJECT TO APPROVAL BY THE CITY ENGINEER.
7. ALL UTILITY COMPANIES SHALL BE GIVEN TWO (2) WORKING DAYS NOTICE PRIOR TO WORKING AROUND
THEIR FACILITIES.
8. ALL TRAFFIC CONTROL, WORK ZONES AND LANE CLOSURES SHALL BE COMPLETELY DELINEATED BY
CHANNELIZATION DEVICES AND SHIELDED BY BARRIERS TO EXCLUDE VEHICLE AND/OR PEDESTRIAN
TRAFFIC. CONTRACTOR SHALL FOLLOW THE MANUAL OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES FOR CONSTRUCTION
AND MAINTENANCE WORK ZONES, CALTRANS STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS AND STANDARD PLANS, LATEST
EDITION. EXACT LOCATION OF ALL TRAFFIC CONTROL TO BE DETERMINED BY THE ENGINEER AND
LOCATION OF ALL TRAFFIC CONTROL TO BE DETERMINED BY THE ENGINEER AND ADDITIONAL WARNING
AND/OR CONSTRUCTION SIGNING MAY BE REQUIRED.
