THF CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ALL LABOR, MATERIALS, TRANSPORTATION AND SERVICES NECESSARY TO PLANT AND IRRIGATE ALL AREAS AND INSTALL ALL ELEMENTS AS SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS AND DESCRIBED HEREIN. 2. ALL WORK SHALL CONFORM TO APPLICABLE LOCAL, COUNTY OR STATE CODIES AM REG- ULATIONS. 3. ALL WORK SHALL BE PERFORMED BY A LICENSED LANDSCAPE CONTRACTOR. 4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN, COORDINATE AND PAY FOR ANY AND ALL PERMITS, FEES ' AND INSPECTIONS AS REQUIRED. 5. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CARRY ALL WORKMSN'S COMPENSATION, PUBLIC LIABILITY AND PROPERTY DAMAGE'INSURANCE AS REOUIPED BY ALL APPLTCAALE CODES, REGULATIONS AND OWNER 6. THE COVTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY ALL CONDITIONS AND DIMENSIONS SHOWN ON PLANS AT THE SITE PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF ANY WORK. ALL DISCREPANCIES SHALL ?Ir REPORTED TO OF'NER (JOB SUPERINTENDENT) FOR DIRECTION IMMEDIATELY. ANY CONTINUATION OF WORK IS AT CONTRACTOR'S RISK AND EXPENSE. 7. IRRIGATION PIPING LAYOUT IS SCHEMATIC. CONTRACTOR CAN MAKE MINOR ADJUSTMENTS TO THE SYSTEM AS REQUIRED TO AVOID PHYSICAL ELEMENTS OR CONFORM TO OTHER SITE CONDITIONS. IN ALL CASES THERE SHOULD BE NO CONFLICTS BETWEEN IRRIGATION SYSTEM, PLANTING, AND STRUCTURAL ELEMENNTS. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING 100% DOUBLE COVER- AGE, PRIOR APPROVAL OF ANY SUCH ADJUSTMENT FROM THE OWNER (JOB SUPERINTENDENT) AND FOR RECORDING OF ANY SUCH CHANGE. 8. PRIOR TO INSTALLATION, CONTRACTOR SHALL INDICATE FINAL LOCATION BY STAKES OR OTHER MEANS OF ALL PRESSURE SUPPLY LINES, HEADS AND CONTROL EOUIPMENT FOR APPROVAL BY OWNER (JON SUPERINTENDENT). CONTRACTOR SHALL ALLOW FOR POSSIBLE MINOR ADJUST14ENCT DUE TO ACTUAL SITE CONDITIONS. 9. THE CONTRAC'T'OR SHALL VERIFY THE STATIC PRESSURE, METER SIZE SIZE OF SERVICF TO METE►, AT EACH POINT OF CONNECTION AND TO MAKE FINAL CONNECTIONS ALLOWING FOR POSSIBLE MINOR DEVIATIONS FROM LOCATION SHOWN ON PLANS DUE TO SITE CONDITIONS. ANY DEVIATION: FROM DESIGN CRITERIA SHALL BE BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE OWNER (JOB SUPE'RINTEPOEAT). CONTINUATION OF WORK SHALL BE AT CONTRACTOR'S RISK AND EXPENSE. 10. THE CON'T'RACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE AND LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS TO HIS EQUIPMENT, PARTS AND MATERIALS ON THIS PROJECT UNTIL COMPLETION AND ACCEPTANCE OF THE JOS IIS WRITING FROM THE OWNER (JOB SUPERINTENDENT). 11. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE AND LIABLE FOR ANY AND ALL DAMAGE DUE TO OPERA- TIONS OR NEGLECT TO UTILITIES, WORK OF OTHER CONTRACTORS, EXISTING AND NEW PLANT f' MATERIALS OR ANY OTHER PHYSICAL ELEMENT EITHER MARKED OR UNMARKED. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR COORDINATION OF ACTIVITIES WITH ALL OTHER TRADES. 13. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE AND LIABLE FOR ANY ENCROACHMENT IMTO ADJACENT PROPERTY, RIGHT-OF-WAYS, 'EASEMENTS, SET -BACKS OR ANY OTHER LEGAL PROPERTY.RESTRIC- .TIONS EITHER MARKED OR UNMARKED. 14. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE AND KEEP UP TO DATE A COMPLETE "AS -BUILT" RECORD SET OF PRINTS WHICH SHALL BE CORRECTED DAILY AND SHOW EVERY CHANGE FROM THE ORIGINAL DRAWINGS. BEFORE THE TIME OF THE FINAL INSPECtION, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL TRANSFER ALL INFORMATION FROM THE "AS BUILT" SET TO A REPRODUCIBLE OZALID SEPIA, PROCURED FROM THE OWNER (JOB SUPERINTENDENT) ALL WORK SHALL BE NEAT AND LEGIBLE. CONTRACTOR SHALL CERTIFY REPRODUCIBLES AS TO ACCURACY AND COMPLETENESS. CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR UPDATING REPRODUCIBLES AS REQUIRED. 15. ALL IRRIGATION AND PLANTING WORK -SHALL BE GUARANTEED BY THE CONTRACTOR AS TO MATERIAL AND WORKMANSHIP FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR FOLLOWING THE DATE OF FINAL AGCEPTANCE OF THE PROJECT. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE A WRITTEN GUARANTEE ON HIS LETTERHEAD AT THE TIME OF THE FINAL INSPECTION/PROJECT CERTIFICATION. 16. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE A WRITTEN CERTIFICATION THAT THE SPRINKLER SYSTEMS AM PLANT MATERIAL ARE INSTALLED FREE FROM DEFECTS IN MATERIALS AND WORKMANSHIP AND IN FULL COMPLIANCE WITH THE DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS. THIS SHALL BE ON THE CON- TRACTORS LETTERHEAD WITH HIS IRRIGATION AND CALIFORNIA CONTRACTORS LICENSE NUMBER. 17. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SUPPLY TO THE OWNER (JOB SUPERINTENDENT) AS A PART OF THIS CONTRACT THE FOLLOWING ITEMS AT T14E TIME OF THE FINAL INSPECTION: 1. A REPRODUCIBLE SET OF "AS -BUILT' DRAWINGS AS PER ITEM 14. 2. TWO (2) SETS OF SPECIAL TOOLS REQUIRED FOR REMOVING, DISASSE"SLINC AND ADJUST- ING EACH TYPE OF SPRINKLER AND VALVE- SUPPLIED ON THIS PROJECT. 3. TWO (2) KEYS FOR EACH AUTOMATIC CONTROLLER. 4. TWO (2) (QUICK COUPLER KEYS AND MATCHING HOSE SWIVELS. 5. TWO (2) KEYS FOR VALVE BOXES. 6. THE ORIGINAL OF THE GUARANTEE LETTER. 7. THE ORIGINAL OF THE CERRIFICATION LETTER. B. OWNERS WORK RESPON-'qIRHJTIE:S ' 1. THE OWNER (JOB SUPERINTENDENT) WILL BE DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL ASPECTS OF CONSTRUCTION INCLUDING LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION INSPECTIONS. ALL INSPECTIONS SHALL BE INITIATED BY THE CONTRACTOR, AND COORDINATED THROUGH THE OWNER (JOB SUPERINTER'- DENT). THE LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT SHALL BE IN A SUPPORT OBSERVATION ROLE TO THE OWNER (JOB SUPERINTEI'IDENT) PROVIDING INTERPRETATIVE ADVICE ONLY. 2. OWNER (JOB SUPERINTENDENT) SHALL RE RESPONSIBLE FOR DETERMINING PROPERTY LINES, RIGHT-OF-WAYS, TRACT BOUNDARIES, GRADES, EASEMENTS, UTILITY LOCATIONS ABOVE AND BELOW GRADE AND ANY OTHER LEGAL OR PHYSICAL ELEMENTS AS REQUIRED FOR THE SUCCESS- FUL COMPLETION OF THE WORK. IRRIGATION MAINLINE AND FOUIPMENT LAYOUT: THIS OBSERVATION VISIT SHALL BE PERFORMED FOLLOWING STAKING OF ALL PRESSURE MAIN LINE AND CONTROL EQUIPMENT, BUT PRIOR TO ANY TRENCHING. 3. IRRIGATION MtAIFLINE REVIEW AND PRESSURE TEST: THIS OBSERVATION VISIT IS FOR THE PURPOSE OF CHECKING ALL MAINLINE FOR CONFORMANCE OF SPECIFICATIONS AND PROVING PRESSURE SYSTEM WATER TIGHT PRIOR TO BACKFILLING TRENCHES. PRESSURE TESTS MUST CONFORM TO MANUFACTURER'S SPECIFICATIONS. ALL PRESSURE LINES SHALL BE TESTED UNDER A SUSTAINED HYDROSTATIC PRESSURE OF 150 POUNDS PER SQUARE INCH FOR A PERIOD OF NOT LESS THAN TWO (2) HOURS. THIS TEST SHALL BE PERFORMED IN THE PRESENCE OF THE OWNER (JOB SUPERINTENDENT) TO MANUFAC- TURER'S ACCEPTED TESTING PROCEDURE AND APPROVED IN WRITING BY THE CONTRACTOR, PRIOR TO BACKFILLING ANY TRENCHES. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE AT HIS COST FOR THE COMPLETION, MODIFICATION OR REVISION OF THE SYSTEMS TO MEET INTENT OF THE DESIGN AND CONTRACT DOCUMENTS. SEEDMIX: THE APPROPRIATE SEEDMIX AND WATER VOLUME SHALL BE MIXED IN THE HYMO -SEEDING MACHINE WITH SASH OF THE SPECIFIED COMPONENTS TO ALLOW FOR A HOMEGENEOUS SLURRY WHICH IS THOROUGHLY MIXED AND CAN BE APPLIED EASILY WITHOUT CLOGGING THE HYDROMULCHING MACHINE. 20. UPON COMPLETION OF EACH PHASE OF PLANTING WORK, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL THOROUGHLY CLEAN THE SITE OF ALL ACCUMULATED RUBBISH, DEBRIS AND OTHER EXTRANEOUS MATERIAL. 21. HYDROSEED MIX AREAS: a. GERMINATION STAGE IRRIGATION: APPROXIMATELY TWENTY-FIVE (25) HOURS AFTER HYDROMULCHING THE PLANTING AREAS, THE WATERING SEQUENCE SHOULD BE INITIATED. THE WATER SHOULD BE LEFT ON LONG ENOUGH TO MOISTEN THE SOIL THOROUGHLY TO THE DEPTH OF THE FIBER TAKING CARE NOT TO SUPER SATURATE OR TO WASH THE FIBER OR SOIL PARTICLES OFF'THE SLOPES. THE FIBER AND SEED MUST BE IRRIGATED FREN ENTLY TO MAINTAIN OPTIMILTM MOISTURE CON'TENT FOR MAXIMUM GERMINATION. AT ALL TIMES THE IRRIGATION SYSTEM MUST BE OBSERVED WHILE IN OPERATION. IRRIGATION SEQUENCE MUST BE DETERMINED BY AIR TEMPERATURE, PREVAILING WIND VELOCITY, SOIL TEXTURE, ORIENTATION AND OTHER LOGISTICAL PROBLEMS. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT THE SOIL BE KEPT MOIST AT ALL TIMES DURING THE GERMINATION PERIOD. RE -SEEDING: THE CONTRACTOR SHALL RE -SEED ALL NON -GERMINATING OR ERODED AREAS AT THE END OF THE INITIAL THIRTY (30) DAY '.MAINTENANCE PERIOD. d. FINAL ACCEPTANCE WILL BE GIVEN AT THE END OF (90) DAYS MAINTENANCE ONCE 902 GERMIN- ATION AND PLANT ESTABLISHMENT HAS BEEN OBTAINED. 22. MAINTENANCE PERIOD: THE MAINTENANCE PERIOD SHALL COMMENCE UPON THE OWNER'S WRITTEN APPROVAL OF *L PHASES OF PLANTING INSTALLATION AND SHALL BE FOR NINETY (90) CONTIN- UOUS CALENDAR. DAYS. 23. MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES: a. GENERAL: THE GENERAL CARE AND MAINTENANCE OF ALL AREAS SHALL CONSIST CF PROPER WATERING, FERTILIZATION, WEFDIFG, CLEAN-UP AND AS NOTED BELOW. b. FERTILIZATION: MAINTENANCE WORK SHALL INCLUDE FERTILIZATION WITH AN AMMONIUM PHOSPHATE 16-20-0 COMMERCIAL FERTILIZER AT THE RATE OF SIX (6) POUNDS PER 1000 SQ. FT. 30 DAYS, 60 DAYS AND 90 DAYS AFTER PLANTING. t. WEEDING: ANY CONCENTRATED DEVELOPMENT OF WEED GROM'TM THAT MAY APPEAR IN PLANTING AREAS DURING THE MAINTENANCE PERIOD SHALL BE REMOVED AT TEN (10) DAY INTERVALS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE SUCH CONCENTRATIONS OF WEEDS MANUALLY. d. CLEAN-UP: DURING THE COURSE OF THE MAINTENANCE WORK, THE CONTRACTORS SHALL REMOVE SURPLUS MATERIALS AND DEBRIS FROM THE SITE AND SHALL KEEP THE PREMISES IN A NEAT AND CLEAN CONDITION AT ALL TIMES. t. DURING THE MAINTENANCE PERIOD, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING ADEQUATE PROTECTION FOR ALL PLANTING AREAS. ANY DAMAGED AREAS SHALL BE REPAIRED AT THE CONTRACTOR'S EXPENSE. f.
