All work shall be done in accordance with these plans and the City of Fontana Engineering Division Trot'11'c Signal Design Guidelines, dated December 1996, and any revisions thereatter, and the Standard Specifications of the State of Colitornia Department of Transportation, latest non -ane t r i c edition. 2. Reter to the Standard Pians' of the State of California Department of Transportation, latest non-letric edition, for complete trottic signal and higMmy lighting installation detaiis. 3. The Contractor shall verify the exact location of all existing underground utilities within the improvement area prior to construction and shall be responsible for their protection and for any damage occurring to them. 4. The Contractor shall notify all concerned utility companies of least two working days in advance of excavation. 5. The exact location of new signal standards and appurtenances shall be approved in the tield by the City Engineer. 6. All pull boxes shall be I5 unless otherwise noted or approved by the City Engineer. Install all pull boxes in unprotected areas per ES -8, State Standard Plans. 7. No splicing of conductors shall be allowed. 8. All conduit shall be rigid metal and shall have a minimum 30 inches of cover in all traffic loaded areas. There shall be 36–inch sweeps on all conduit. 9. Conduit between pull box and signal standard shall be 2 inches for Type 1–A pole and 3 inches tar all most or poles. 10. The Contractor shall familiarize himself and comply with all county, state, and all local codes and regulations and OSHA requirements governing work in close proximity to high voltage power lines. Contractor shall notify the City Engineer immediately it the location of the signal standards as indicated on the plan sheets or as positioned in the field brings any part of the signal standard, signal or luminaire most arms closer than 10 teet to any power line. 11. Prior to pertorming any excavation, the Contractor shall call Underground Alert 1-800-422-4133 for underground utilities interterence checks (2 working day mini=m notice is required). 12. Autoscope detection shall be moditied as necessary by City Trattic Engineering Division. 13. Trees are to be trimmed and/or removed as directed by the City Engineer to accommodate Autoscope detection visibility.
