PLANTING NOTES
1. Contractor shall review all existing site conditions prior to submitting bid and
prior to commencing construction. If any discrepancies exist they should be
brought to the immediate attention of the Landscape Architect, in writing.
2. Contractor shall be responsible for locating and staking all sewer, utility and
water main lines prior to planting. Contractor shall assume sole responsibility
for any costs incurred due to damage and replacement of said utilities.
3. Contractor shall install plant material and ground cover material in accordance
with details, drawing and specifications.
4. Final locations of trees shall be approved by the Landscape Architect prior to
planting.
5. Landscape Contractor shall be responsible for maintaining grades and
drainage flow lines as shown on the engineer's grading plan during soil
preparation and finish grading.
6. Separations between turf and ground cover areas shall be by concrete mow strip•
7. Completed planting and irrigation shall be inspected by Landscape Architect
prior to final acceptance.
8. Ground cover planting shall be continuous under all trees and shrub masses
as shown on plan.
9. All vine runners shall be installed with the nursery stakes removed and vine
runners shall be espaliered and attached to the adjacent wall VI% er9xy tIe<-7.
10. Fertilizer tablets shall be Agriform, 21 gram tablets (20-10-5) in quantities as
follows:
1 gallon shrub - 1 tablet
5 gallon shrub and tree - 3 tablets
15 gallon shrub - 4 tablets
15 gallon tree - 5 tablets
1 tablet per each 4" of box size
11. For area to be landscaped the following amendments shall be uniformly
broadcast and thoroughly incorporated by means of a rototiller or equal into
the top 6 inches of soil(AR h 4'1 OR- LGA)

4 cubic yards nitrogen stabilized organic amendment
derived from redwood sawdust, fir sawdust or cedar sawdust
15 pounds soil sulfur

SHALL BE ADDED. FERTILIZERS SHALL THEN BE ADDED, FOLLOWED BY WOOD PULP
MULCH.
MULCH SHALL ONLY BE ADDED TO THE MIXTURE AFTER THE SEED AND WHEN THE TA JK
IS AT LEAST ONE-THIRD (113) FILLED WITH WATER
THE ENGINE THROTTLE SHALL BE OPENED TO FULL SPEED v1HEN THE TANK IS HALF.

ACHIEVED, AND THE MATERIAL IS SPREAD AT THE REQUIRED RATE PER ACRE.
D. ALL BARE SPOTS SHALL BE RESEEDED WITHIN NINETY (90) DAYS TO THE SATiSFACTIOti
OF THE CITY ENGINEER.
NOTE:
APPLY SEED BETWEEN OCTOBER 1 AND FEBRUARY 1. IF NO RAIN, WATER SLOPES TO
DEPTH OF 4 INCHES. CONTINUE TO WATER TO KEEP SEED BED FROM DRYING OUT UNTIL
RAINS BEGIN.
LANDSCAPE CONTRACTOR SHALL ARRANGE c -OR NON -IRRIGATED HYDROSEEDED
SLOPE AREAS TO BE WATERED WITH A WATER TRUCK TEMPORARILY UNTIL
HYDROSEEDING IS ESTABLISHED.
PRIOR TO THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE HYDROSEEDED AREAS BY THE CITY'S RESIDENT
