CITY OF FONTANA STORM DRAIN GENERAL NOTES
1 THE CONSTRUCTION OF ALL PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS SHALL CONFORM TO THESE PUNS AND
TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE CITY OF FONTANA STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS, THE STANDAIO
SPECIFICATIONS FOR PUBLIC WORKS CONSTRUCTION, AND CALTRANS SPECIFICATIONS AND
STANDARD PLANS.

THE CONTRACTOR SHALL DILIGENTLY PURSUE THAT PORTION OF THE WORK TO COMPLETION.
11 IF DURING CONSTRUCTION, GROUND WATER IS ENCOUNTERED, A SYSTEM APPROVED 8Y THE
CITY ENGINEER SHALL BE INSTALLED TO DEWATER SAID AREA AT THE DIRECTION OF THE
SOILS ENGINEER.
12 NO TRENCH BACKFILL SHALL TAKE PUCE WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL OF THE gTYS INSPECTOR.
13 THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE MEANS OF DUST
CONTROL WHICH SHALL INCLUDE PROVISIONS FOR ADEQUATE WATERING DURING THE PROCESS
AND PROVISIONS FOR CONTINUANCE OF DUST CONTROL UNTIL SUCH TIME THAT THE GRADED
SURFACE PRESENTS EFFICIENT PROTECTIVE COVER AGAINST WIND OR WATER EROSION THAT
SPECIAL DUST CONTROL MEASURES ARE NO LONGER NECESSARY.
14 LOCATIONS OF FIELD DENSITY TEST SHALL BE DETERMINED BY THE SOILS ENGINEER OR
APPROVED TESTING AGENCY AND SHALL BE SUFFICIENT IN BOTH HORIZONTAL AND VER1tCK
PLACEMENT TO PROVIDE REPRESENTATIVE TESTING OF ALL FILL PLACED. TESTING IN AREAS
OF A CRITICAL NATURE OR SPECIAL EMPHASIS SHALL BE IN ADDITION TO THE NORMAL
REPRESENTATIVE SAMPLINGS.
15 ALL TRAVELED WAYS MUST BE CLEANED DAILY OF ALL DIRT, MUD AND DEBRIS DEPOSITED ON
THEM AS A RESULT OF THE GRADING OPERATION, CLEANING IS TO BE DONE TO THE
SATISFACTION OF THE CITY ENGINEER.
H ALL CONSTRUCTION AREAS SHALL BE PROPERLY POSTED AND L.fGiTED IN CONFORMMdCE MIITM
THE STALE MANUAL OF WARNING SIGNS, LIGHTS AND DEVICES FOR USE IN THE PERFORMANCE

17 ALL MANHOLES SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED 6' BELOW PAVEMENT GRADE AND BROUGHT TO FINISH
GRADE BY THE PAVING CONTRACTOR AFTER PAVEMENT IS IN PUCE.
18 NO CONCRETE SHALL BE PLACED UNTIL THE FORMS AND REINFORCING STEEL HAVE BEEN
PLACED INSPECTED AND APPROVED.
19 ALL EXPOSED METAL SURFACES SHALL BE GALVANIZED IN ACCORDANCE MATH THE CITY
STANDARD SPECIFlCAl10NS.
20 AS -BUILT PLANS SHALL BE PROVIDED TO THE CITY BY THE CONTRACTOR. (EN1MtE PROXCT)
21 THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOT DISTURB EXISTING SURVEY MONUMENTS OR BENCHMARKS NOTED
IN THE THE SPECIFICATIONS OR ON THE PLANS OR FOUND DURING CONSTRUCTION WITHOUT
PRIOR NOTIFICATION TO THE CITY ENGINEER. MONUMENT REPLACEMENT SHALL BE DONE BY A
