THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY OWNER (JOB SUPERINTENDENT) NOT LESS THAN FORTY EIGHT (48) HOURS IN ADVANCE OF ANY SUCH OBSERVATION VISIT. CONTINUED WORK WITHOUT NOTIFICATION OR OBSERVATION VISIT AT THESE PHASES OF THE WORK IS AT CONTRACTORS RISK, WITH ANY REQUIRED CHANGE OR MODIFICATION AT CONTRACTORS EXPENSE. OWNER (JOB SUPERINTENDENT) SHALL BE INFORMED BY LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT AS TO TIMING AND PURPOSE OF OBSERVATION VISITS. 1. CONTRACTOR ORIENTATION/PRECONSTRUCTION MEETING: THIS MEETING SHALL BE CONDUCTED TO DISCUSS THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, POS- SIBLE DISCREPANCIES, SITE CONDITIONS AND OTHER ASPECTS OF THE PROJECT IRRI- GATION WORK SUCH AS SCHEDULE AND REQUIREMENTS FOR STARTING WORK. PRIOR TO THE MEETING, CONTRACTOR SHALL THOROUGHLY ACQUAINT HIMSELF WITH SITE CONDITIONS AND THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS. 2. IRRIGATION MAINLINE AND FOUIP.4ENT LAYOUT: THIS OBSERVATION VISIT SHALL BE PERFORMED FOLLOWING STAKING OF ALL PRESSURE MAIN LINE AND CONTROL EQUIPMENT, BUT PRIOR TO ANY TRENCHING. 3. IRRIGATION MAIFLINE REVIEW AND PRESSURE TEST: THIS_OBSERVATION VISIT IS FOR THE PURPOSE OF CHECKING ALL MAINLINE FOR CONFORMANCE OF SPECIFICATIONS AND PROVING PRESSURE SYSTEM WATER TIGHT PRIOR TO BACKFILLING TRENCHES. PRESSURE TESTS MUST CONFORM TO MANUFACTURER'S SPECIFICATIONS. ALL PRESSURE LINES SHALL BE TESTED UNDER A SUSTAINED HYDROSTATIC PRESSURE OF 150 POUNDS PER SQUARE INCH FOR A PERIOD OF NOT LESS THAN TWO (2) HOURS. THIS TEST SHALL BE PERFORMED IN THE PRESENCE OF THE OWNER (JOB SUPERINTENDENT) TO MANUFAC- TURER'S ACCEPTED TESTING PROCEDURE AND APPROVED IN WRITING BY THE CONTRACTOR, PRIOR TO BACKFILLING ANY TRENCHES. CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH NECESSARY FORCE - PUMP AND ALL OTHER NECESSARY TESTING EQUIPMENT. a► 4. IRRIGATION COMPLETION/COVERAGE TEST REVIEW: THIS OBSERVATION VISIT IS TO ENSURE CONFORMANCE OF ALL IRRIGATION EQUIPMENT WITH IRRIGATION CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AND WILL CONSIST OF OPERATION OF EACH SYSTEM TO ENSURE INTENDED COVERAGE. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FLUSH AND ADJUST ALL HEADS FOR OPTIMUM PERFORMANCE AND TO PREVENT OVERSPRAY ONTO WALKS, ROADWAYS AND BUILDINGS, ETC. THIS MAY INCLUDE CHANGES IN NOZZLE SIZES AND DEGREE OF ARC TO OPTIMIZE OPERATION. 6. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE AT HIS COST FOR THE COMPLETION, MODIFICATION OR REVISION OF THE SYSTEMS TO MEET INTENT OF THE DESIGN AND CONTRACT DOCUMENTS.
