GENERAL NOTES
I. THE CONSTRUCTION OF ALL PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS SHALL
CONFORM TO THESE PLANS AND TO THE CITY STANDARD
SPECIFICATIONS, PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT, CITY OF FONTANA.
REFER TO DEFINITIONS AND TERMS IN CITY STANDARD
SPECIFICATIONS.
2. EXCAVATION ARID CONSTRUCTION PERMITS SHALL BE OBTAINED
FROM FONTANA PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT PRIOR TO START OF
ANY WORK WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS,
3. PAVEMENT SECTION SHOWN IS 'PRELIMINARY ONLY FOR
PURPOSES OF ESTIMATE OF QUANTITIES, AND IS SUBJECT TO
REVISION AND APPROVAL BY CITY AS REQUIRED AFTER COMPLETION
OF ROUGH GRADING.
4. LOCATIONS OF PUBLIC UTILITIES SHOWN HAVE BEEN DETERMINED
FROM AVAILABLE INFORMATION. HOWEVER IT SHALL BE THE
RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO DETERMINE THE TRUE
LOCATION AND ELEVATION IN THE FIELD OF ANY EXISTING UTILITIES
AND TO EXERCISE PROPER PRECAUTIONS TO AVOID INJURY OR
DAMAGE THERETO, CONTRACTOR SHALL CONTACT UNDERGROUND
SERVICE ALERT FOR UTILITY LOCATION BEFORE EXCAVATION AT
1-800-422-4133.
5. STERILANT REQUIRED UNDER ALL AC PAVEMENT.
6. ALL EXPOSED CONCRETE SURFACES SHALL CONFORM IN GRADE,
COLOR AND FINISH TO ALL . ADJOINING CURBS AND SIDEWALKS.
7. PROTECTIVE MEASURES SHALL BE TAKEN BY THE CONTRACTOR
SO AS NOT TO CAUSE ANY MUD, SILT, OR DEBRIS TO BE DEPOSITED
ONTO PUBLIC OR ADJACENT PROPERTY AT ALL TIMES DURING
CONSTRUCTION, ANY MUD OR DEBRIS ON PUBLIC PROPERTY SHALL
BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY. DUST SHALL BE CONTROLLED BY
WATERING OR OTHER APPROVED METHOD THROUGHOUT THE GRADING
AND CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS.
8, CARE SHOULD BE TAKEN TO PREVENT GRADES, DITCHES AND
SWALES FROM UNDERMINING STREET IMPROVEMENTS. UPON
INSPECTION OF THE SITE, THE CITY ENGINEER MAY REQUIRE
