EXIST. SIGN TO REMAIN
1. ALL WORK, MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT FOR TRAFFIC SIGNING AND STRIPING SHALL
CONFORM TO THESE PLANS AND THE STANDARDS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE
STATE OF CALIFORNIA.
2. PAVEMENT MARKERS AND TRAFFIC LINE (STRIPING) DIMENSIONS SHALL CONFORM TO
CALTRANS TRAFFIC MANUAL.
3. PAVEMENT LEGENDS AND ARROWS SHALL CONFORM TO THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA
STANDARDS AND SPECIFICATIONS,
4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH THE NECESSARY CONTROL POINTS FOR ALL STRIPING
AND MARKINGS AND SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COMPLETENESS AND ACCURACY
THEREOF.
5. TRAFFIC SIGN DIMENSIONS, COLOR, AND LETTERING SHALL CONFORM TO THE LATEST
CALTRANS APPROVED SIGN SPECIFICATION SHEETS. SIGN CODES SHOWN HEREON ARE TO
CONFORM TO CALTRANS SPECIFICATION SHEET CODES. TRAFFIC SIGN SIZE SHALL BE
STANDARD UNLESS OTHERWISE INDICATED ON THE PLANS.
6. MATERIALS FOR CONSTRUCTION AND INSTALLATION OF SIGNS, POSTS AND MOUNTING
HARDWARE SHALL MEET STATE REQUIREMENTS. REFLECTIVE SIGN SHEETING SHALL BE
DIAMOND GRADE SHEETING FOR STOP CONTROL AND WARNING SIGNS AND HIGH INTENSITY
GRADE SHEETING FOR ALL OTHER SIGNS.
(CHECK WITH CALTRANS REQUIREMENTS FOR REFLECTIVE SIGN SHEETING REQUIREMENTS
CHANGED JAN 1, 1992).
7. SIGNS SHALL BE MOUNTED ON A "QUICK PUNCH POST" 2" x2" (12 GA.) WITH 7/16"
HOLES, 1 ON CENTERS, ON FOUR SIDES THAT CAN BE PUNCHED OUT, LENGTHS TO
VARY WITH SIGN INSTALLATION TO MAINTAIN MINIMUM HEIGHTS. THE ANCHOR SHALL
BE A HEAVY DUTY ONE PIECE ANCHOR, 2 1/2 )) x 30" x 6 GAUGE, (NON -PERFORATED),
TO FIT A 2 SQUARE STEEL POST, PRE --PUNCHED AT MID -POINT '-OF ANCHOR WITH ONE
7/16" HOLE ON EACH SIDE, AND AT TOP.
8, THE QUANTITY OF TRAFFIC SIGNAGE SHALL BE CONSIDERED ONE LUMP SUM ITEM,
COMPLETE IN PLACE, THE LUMP SUM PRICE IN THE BID SHALL INCLUDE FULL
COMPENSATION FOR FURNISHING ALL LABOR, MATERIALS, TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT
FOR DOING ALL WORK INVOLVED IN, OR APPURTENANT TO, THE INSTALLATION OF
TRAFFIC LINES AND/OR MARKINGS AND/OR MARKERS AND TRAFFIC SIGNS AS REQUIRED
ON THESE PLANS. ALL COST FOR TEMPORARY PAVEMENT PAINTING, INCLUDING
SANDBLASTING OF EXISTING LINES OR MARKINGS, AND THE REMOVAL OF RAISED
PAVEMENT MARKERS SHALL BE AT THE CONTRACTORS EXPENSE.
9. IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO MAINTAIN BARRICADES,
DELINEATORS OR OTHER TRAFFIC CONTROLS AT ALL TIMES.
10. CONTROL POINTS OR '"CAT -TRACKING" IS TO BE APPROVED BY THE TRAFFIC SECTION
PRIOR TO PAINTING.
11. REMOVAL OF ALL SIGNS AND LEGENDS SHALL BE COORDINATED WITH THE CITY OF
FONTANA TRAFFIC SECTION, STOP SIGN AND LEGENDS WILL BE REMOVED ONLY BY
- CITY FORCES.
12. FIVE DAYS ADVANCE WRITTEN NOTICE TO THE CITY TRAFFIC SECTION IS REQUIRED
TO COORDINATE WORK WITH CITY FORCES.
