GENERAL NOTES

be improved and interfering with construction shall be

be the owner's responsibility to notify all agencies
concerned.
4. If asphalt concrete is to be placed directly on
subgrades & soil steril4nt registered by the EPA for
use under AC and FICC shall be Liniforml y applied at the
manufacturer's recommended rate for the full pavement
width prior to paving"
5 . At the completion of, paving, a materials report shall
be submitted to the City Engineer of the City of
Fontana listing all tests of determination complete to
verify:
-A. F--va l ue Sieve analysis and sand equivalent
of aggregrate bases.
D. Stability tail content and sieve analysis
of asphalt surfacing.
6" Compaction test of embankment construction, trench
back:f ill , compacting original ground and all. subgrades
shall be performed at no cost to the Ci-ty of Fontana. A
written report with these compaction tests shall be
submitted to, the City of Fontana Public Works
Department for approval , prior to placement of base
materials and/ -or skirfacing.
7. All gas and water mains and laterals shall be
constructed to each individual lot prior to pawing
C. Adequate stakes shall be set by the En(aineery to enable
the contractor to construct the work: to the plan
grades.
9. Elevations shown in parenthesis are existing
elevations .
10. When a%,phal t concrete is placed on native --soil which.
consists of rocky material , the Subgrade shall be
prepared'by removing all rocks which protrude above the
subgrade and all voids or depressions shall be filled
with a fine graded material caf a quality better, than
the native material. (See Dote No. 4)
11. As Built Plan shall be provided to the city by, the
contractor.
12. ALL DRIVEWAYS SOUTH SIDE OF HARVEY DRIVE WILT, BE
DEPRESSED 3" AT THE BACK OF THE SIDEWALK.`

THE EXISTENCE AND LOCATION OF ANY UNDERGROUND UTILITY PIPES,
CONDUITS, OR STRUCTURES SHOWN ON THESE PLANS ARE OBTAINED BY
A SEARCH OF THE AVAILABLE RECORDS. TO THE BEST OF OUR
KNOWLEDGE, THERE ARE NO EXISTING UTILITIES EXCEPT AS SHOWN
ON THESE PLANS. THE CONTRACTOR IS REQUIRED TO TAKE DUE
PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES TO PROTECT THE UTILITY LINES SHOWN ON
THESE DRAWINGS. THE CONTRACTOR FURTHER ASSUMES ALL
LIABILITY AND RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE UTILITY PIPES, CONDUITS
OR STRUCTURES SHOWN OR NOT SHOWN ON THESE DRAWINGS.
CONTRACTOR AGREES THAT HE SHALL ASSUME SOLE AND COMPLETE
RESPONSIBILITY FOR JOB SITE CONDITIONS DURING THE COURSE OF
CONSTRUCTION OF THIS PROJECT. INCLUDING SAFETY OF ALL
PERSONS AND PROPERTY; THAT THIS REQUIREMENT SHALL APPLY
CONTINUOUSLY AND NOT BE LIMITED TO NORMAL WORKING HOURS AND
THAT THE CONTRACTOR SHALL DEFEND, INDEMNIFY, AND HOLD THE
CITY, THE OWNER AND THE ENGINEER HARMLESS FROM ANY AND ALL
LIABILITY, DEAL OR ALLEGED, IN CONNECTION WITH THE
PERFORMANCE OF WORK ON THIS PROJECT EXCEPT FROM LIABILITY
ARISING FROM THE SOLE NEGLIGENCE OF THE OWNER OR THE
ENGINEER.
I
