THE CONSTRUCTION OF ALL PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS SHALL CONFORM TO THESE PLANS AND TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE CITY STANDARD SPEC I FICAT IONS , PUBLIC WORKS Dc. , CITY OF FONTANA. REFER TO DEFINITIONS AND TERMS IN CITY STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS. 2. CONSTRUCTION PERMITS SHALL BE OBTAINED FROM FONTANA PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT PRIOR TO START OF ANY WORK WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS. 3. STATIONING REFERS TO THE CENTERLINES OF STREET EXCEPT WHERE OTHERWISE NOTED. 4. CURB DATA REFERS TO THE FACE OF THE CURB. 5. ALL EXPOSED CONCRETE SURFACES SHALL CONFORMAN GRADE, COLOR AND FINISH TO ALL ADJOINING CURBS AND SIDEWALKS. 6. PAVEMENT SECTIONS SHOWN ARE MINIMUM AND SUBJECT TO REVISION AND APPROVAL OF THE CITY AS REQUIRED BY SOILS TESTS TAKEN AFTER COMPLETION OF ROUGH GRADING. 7. ALL UNDERGROUND WORK SHALL BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO PAVING OF STREETS. 8. EXISTING UNDERGROUND UTILITIES ARE AS PER AVAILABLE RECORDS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFYING THE ACTUAL LOCATION AND ELEVATION IN THE FIELD. , 9.' THE WALLS AND FACES OF ALL EXCAVATIONS GREATER THAN FIVE (5) FEET IN DEPTH SHALL BE EFFECTIVELY GUARDED BY A SHORING SYSTEM, SLOPING OF THE GROUND OR OTHER EQUIVALENT MEANS. TRENCHES LESS THAN FIVE (5) FEET IN DEPTH SHALL ALSO BE GUARDED WHEN EXAMINATION INDICATES HAZARDOUS GROUND MOVEMENT MAY BE EXPECTED, 10. THE CONTRACTOR(S) SHALL OBTAIN A PERMIT TO PERFORM EXCAVATION OR TRENCH WORK AS DESCRIBED IN NOTE 9 ABOVE FROM CALIFORNIA STATE DIVISION OF INDUSTRIAL SAFETY. SEE STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR PUBLIC WORKS 'CONSTRUCTION SECTION 306-1.1.6. 11. ALL MANHOLE FRAMES AND COVERS SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED 6" BELOW FINISHED GRADE BY SEWER CONTRACTOR AND SHALL BE RAISED TO GRADE BY PAVING CONTRACTOR AFTER COMPLETION OF PAVING. 12. REFER TO CITY OF FONTANA, UNDERGROUND UTILITY LOCATION STANDARD DETAIL 129. 13. THE CONTRACTOR(S) SHALL COORDINATE CONSTRUCTION WITH ALL UTILITIES AND OTHER IMPROVEMENTS INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, GAS, TELEPHONE, ELECTRICAL, LIGHTING, TELEVISION CABLE, LANDSCAPING, LANDSCAPING IRRIGATION, DOMESTIC WATER, RECLAIMED WATER, SEWER, STORM DRAINAGE, FLOOD CONTROL SYSTEMS, ETC. 14. ADEQUATE STAKES SHALL BE SET BY THE ENGINEER TO ENABLE THE CONTRACTOR TO CONSTRUCT THE WORKS TO THE PLAN GRADES. 15. WATER VALVE G&VERS SHALL BE RAISED TO GRADE BY THE PAVING CONTRACTOR. ]6.
