GENERAL NOTES:
1. ALL TRAFFIC CONTROL WORK AND DEVICES FOR CONSTRUCTION SHALL CONFORM
TO THE "MANUAL OF TRAFFIC CONTROLS", LATEST EDITION, CALTRANS STANDARD
SPECIFICATIONS AND STANDARD PLANS, LATEST EDITION.
2. ALL WORK SHALL BE DONE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THESE PLANS AND THE CITY OF
FONTANA ENGINEERING DIVISION STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS DATED 1915, AND ANY
REVISIONS THEREAFTER.
3. CONTRACTOR SHALL REFER TO THE CITY ENGINEER IN THE EVENT OF A CONFLICT
OR POTENTIAL CONFLICT WITH THE PLANS AND/OR SPECIFICATIONS FOR THIS
PROJECT.
4. ALL REQUIRED CONSTRUCTION PERMITS SHALL BE OBTAINED FROM THE CITY OF
FONTANA ENGINEERING DIVISION PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION BEGINNING.
5, ALL WORK AREAS SHALL BE COMPLETELY CONED AND/OR DELINEATED AND/OR
BARRICADED. FOR ANY WORK REQUIRING A LANE CLOSURE, CONTRACTOR SHALL
FOLLOW THE GUIDELINES IN THE LATEST EDITION OF THE WORK AREA TRAFFIC
CONTROL HANDBOOK.
6. ALL ADVANCE WARNING SIGNS SHALL BE REFLECTORIZED.
7. CONSTRUCTION TRUCK TRAFFIC MERGING INTO TRAFFIC LANES SHALL BE BY USE OF
QUALIFIED FLAGMEN AND APPROPRIATE SIGNAGE AS DIRECTED BY THE CITY
ENGINEER, OR QUALIFIED FLAGGERS SHALL BE USED WHERE CONSTRUCTION
REDUCES THE ROAD WAY TO A SINGLE THROUGH LANE OR WHERE THROUGH
TRAFFIC MUST STOP FOR EQUIPMENT MOVEMENT

S. TRAFFIC SIGN DIMENSIONS, COLOR AND LETTERING SHALL CONFORM TO THE LATEST
CALTRANS SIGN SPECIFICATION SHEETS.
A M"MUM 12' TRAVEL LANE AND EMERGENCY ACCESS SHALL BE MAINTAINED AT
ALL TIMES.
IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO MAINTAIN BARRICADES,
DELINEATORS OR OTHER TRAFFIC CONTROL AT ALL TIMES.
MASK OR BAG ALL CONFLICTING SIGNS, AND ALL CONFLICTING STRIPING AND
PAVEMENT MARKINGS ARE TO BE REMOVED FROM THE PAVEMENT BY WET SAND
BLASTING BY THE CONTRACTOR, OR AS DIRECTED BY THE CITY ENGINEER.
UPON COMPLETION OF CONSTRUCTION, CONTRACTOR SHALL RESTORE ALL SIGNING,
STRIPING, BARRICADES AND OTHER TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES TO THEM ORIGINAL
CONDITION, OR TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE CITY ENGINEER.
REMOVAL OF ALL SIGNS AND LEGENDS SHALL BE COORDINATED WITH THE CITY OF
FONTANA TRAFFIC SECTION. STOP SIGNS WILL BE REMOVED ONLY BY CITY FORCES.
FIVE (5) DAYS ADVANCE WRITTEN NOTICE TO THE CITY TRAFFIC SECTION IS
REQUIRED TO COORDINATE WORK WITH CITY FORCES.
EXACT LOCATION OF ALL EQUIPMENT AND CONTROL DEVICES TO BE DETERMINED
BY THE CITY ENGINEER. ADDITIONAL WARNING AND/OR CONSTRUCTION SIGNS MAY
BE REQUIRED BY THE CITY ENGINEER.
