Dear Resident:
The City of Fontaria has awarded a contract for the construction of the Cypress Avenue Sewer project
from Jurupa Avenue on the south to San Bernardino: Avenue on the north (se~ attached vicinity map).
The project is designed to provide additional sewer system capacity and consists of the construction of
large 27 and 30-inch sewer pipe and house laterals in Cypress Avenue.
The contract has been awarded to Kenko, Inc. The; Contractor is an independent business person, and
in the interest of obtaining the lowest bid consistent with good work, such things as scheduling the time
of work and method of operation are left largely to the contractor's discretion. However, the contractor
must proceed diligently and complete the work within the contract time allotted, which is approximately
five months. The construction start date is anticipated to be November 10, 1992. The City will provide
inspection and testing to insure that the contractor's work meets the requirements of the plans and special
provisions and requirements of the City of Fontaria.
All exist'rag residences will be provided a sewer house lateral stubout to the edge of the street. It is
requested that the attached form be returned to the :City Engineer or City Inspector by November 20,
1992. Details for homeowners interested in connecting to the sewer system are attached.
It is the City's desire to accomplish this construction with i minimum of inconvenience to the area
residents. Your indulgence and cooperation are appreciated. City staff will work closely with residents
and the contractor to reduce both the occurrence and the duration of any unpleasant conditions. Please
recognize that construction sites can be dangerous. Parents should take special care to keep children away
from the construction activity at all times.
The City's inspector for this work is Wayne Brown. He may be reached either on the site or by
telephone at (714) 350-7610.

The City project will install a sewer lateral from the sewer main to three feet past the edge of pavement
or three feet past existing curb as the case may be. The following will be required of the homeowner.
° Construction of necessary sewer lateral pipe in public right of way and the piping
within your pwperty to connect your house to the end of the sewer lateral
constructed by the City. You will need to hire a contractor for that portion of the
work and obtain the necessary public works and building permits.
°Payment of applicable fees at the time of connection.
The current fees are as follows:
° SEWER CONNECTION FEE $600 PER EQUIVALENT DWELLING ],TNIT
° SEWER EXPANSION FF.E $1837 PER EDU APPLICABLE TO HOMES
CONSTRUCTED AFTER NOVEMBER 1978, FEE IS PAID TO THE CITY

Dear Mr. Weddle: Re: 11202 Cypress Ave., Fontaria
I have spoken to Mr. John Tessley,I hope the spelling is correct,
he stated I should send you a letter of ~ intention to split the lot
and build within one year and request a southerly stub out from the sewer
as well as the northerly stub out, which is about 26-28 ft. from the
north boundry line.
The southern stub should be 10' to 15' from the south boundry. Since
everything has been happening so fast I have not had a chance to make
application for a lot split. I had no idea the sewer would be put in so fast.
My father Einer C. Petersen deceased 12-28-91 and I have been busy with
his estate and it should be finished by christmas.

Re: Sewer service on Cypress Avenue and Boyle Ave.
Dear Mr. Weddie:
I own undeveloped property at the Southwest corner of Boyle and Cypress
Avenues with the approximate dimensions of 550 ft. on Boyle and 330 ft. on
Cypress to the middle of the street. Your letter of November 6, 1992 was received
concerning hook up possibilities to the new sewer line being installed shortly.;
Your letter only mentions residences being provided lateral stubouts. My
property is zoned Planned Industrial, is undeveloped at the present time, and is in
the county territory.
I wish to have to opportunity to be allowed to use the City of Fontana
sewer line when the property is developed. I notice on the letter entitled, DETAILS
FOR HOMEOWNERS INTEREST IN CONNECTING TO THE CITY SEWER SYSTEM,
you have a footnote which reads, "An irrevocable agreement to annex to the City
(if located in unincorporated county area.) will be required.
Please send a copy of the agreement and all particulars as to cost, etc.
for such annexation agreement for this parcel. I would appreciate a map showing
how far we are at the present time from the city of Fontana boundary. Thank you
for the notice.
