Subject: Peer Review of the Cultural Resources Study for the Tamarind Avenue Project, City of
Fontana, Riverside County, California by Brian F. Smith and Associates (April 25, 2022)
for CEQA Compliance (LSA Project No. FRT2202)
Dear Mr. Goodwin:
LSA previously noted errors/deficiencies in the following sections:
• Management Summary/Abstract: These comments were adequately addressed.
• Results of the Archaeological Records Search (1.3.1): These comments were adequately
addressed.
• Research Design (2.0): This comment was adequately addressed.
• Recommendations for Additional Information (4.0): This comment was adequately addressed.
• Recommended Mitigation Monitoring Program (4.2): These comments were adequately
addressed.
• Summary 4.3: These comments were adequately addressed.
CONCLUSION
The cultural resources study (assessment) for the project is generally consistent with current
Cultural Resources Management standards and practices and more than adequate in certain
sections. The noted deficiencies have been satisfactorily addressed, and the report is now sufficient
for California Environmental Quality Act compliance purposes (i.e., relative to the Tamarind Avenue
Project).
Sincerely,
LSA Associates, Inc.
