Emergency Information
The names, addresses and telephone numbers of the contractor and sub -contractors or his
representatives, shall be filed with the City Engineer and the Police Department prior to
beginning work.
The contract shall provide adequate detours to the satisfactionof the City Traffic Engineer.
A detailed plan of such detours shall be submitted to the City Traffic Engineer at least five (5)
days prior to the time the contractor wishes to close off the street or in any way restrict the
traffic flow. In actual street closures, the submitted plan shall indicate the route of the
detour, the character of the temporary pavement where required, and a layout of the locations
of signs and lighting. In all other cases, the contractor shall provide adequate traffic flow in
both directions of traffic cannot be maintained the contractor shall provide flagmen whose
sole duties consist of directing traffic through and around the work. In all cases, the approval
of a suitable plan shall be granted the contractor prior to beginning construction.
Failure or refusal by the contractor to comply with the above mentioned requirements shall
be sufficient cause for the City Engineer to order the work done by city forces and the cost
therein to be borne by the contractor.
