GENERAL NOTES
7. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CLEARING OF THE PROPOSED WORK AREA, AND RELOCATION COSTS OF
ALL EXISTING UTILITIES.
2. ALL WORK SHALL CONFORM TO CALIFORNIA STATE LANDSCAPE ORDINANCE EO B-29-15.
3. ALL WORK SHALL CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF CITY OF FONTANA, IMPROVEMENT STDS. AND SPECIFICATIONS.
4. ALL UNDERGROUND FACILITIES WITH LATERALS, SHALL BE IN PLACE PRIOR TO PAVING THE STREET INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED
TO THE FOLLOWING: SEWER, WATER, ELECTRIC, GAS, STORM DRAINS.
5. IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE DEVELOPER/OWNER OR CONTRACTOR TO APPLY FOR AN ENCROACHMENT PERMIT FOR
ALL WORK PERFORMED WITHIN PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY, DEDICATED AND ACCEPTED FOR PUBLIC USE; AND TO BE RESPONSIBLE
FOR SATISFACTORY COMPLIANCE FOR ALL CURRENT ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATION DURING CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES FOR
THIS PROJECT. ADDITIONAL STUDIES AND/OR PERMITS MAY BE REQUIRED.
6. IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR OR DEVELOPER TO INSTALL AND MAINTAIN ALL CONSTRUCTION,
REGULATORY, GUIDE AND WARNING SIGNS WITHIN THE PROJECT LIMITS AND ITS SURROUNDINGS AND TO PROVIDE SAFE
PASSAGE FOR THE TRAVELING PUBLIC AND WORKERS UNTIL THE FINAL COMPLETION AND ACCEPTANCE OF THE PROJECT.
7. CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS THAT DISTURB MORE THAN ONE ACRE MUST OBTAIN A NATIONAL POLLUTANT DISCHARGE
ELIMINATION SYSTEM (NPDES) PERMIT. OWNERS/DEVELOPERS ARE REQUIRED TO FILE A NOTICE OF INTENT (NOI) WITH THE STATE
WATER RESOURCES CONTROL BOARD (SWRCB) AND PREPARE A STORM WATER POLLUTION PREVENTION PLAN (SWPPP) AND
MONITORING PLAN FOR THE SITE.
8. ALL GRADING SHALL CONFORM TO THE CITY OF FONTANA GRADING ORDINANCE.
9. ALL PROPERTY CORNERS SHALL BE CLEARLY DELINEATED IN THE FIELD PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF ANY
CONSTRUCTION/GRADING.
70. DUST SHALL BE CONTROLLED BY WATERING OR OTHER APPROVED METHODS.
71. NO FILL SHALL BE PLACED ON EXISTING GROUND UNTIL THE GROUND HAS BEEN CLEARED OF WEEDS, DEBRIS, TOPSOIL, AND
OTHER DELETERIOUS MATERIAL.
12. FINISH GRADE SHALL BE SLOPED AWAY FROM ALL EXTERIOR WALLS AT NOT LESS THAN 2' PER FOOT FOR A MINIMUM OF 3'.
73. REFER TO CIVIL ENGINEER PRECISE GRADE PLANS FOR ALL GRADING, DRAINAGE AND RETAINING WALL SPECIFICATIONS. REFER
TO STRUCTURAL ENGINEER SPECIFICATIONS AND STRUCTURAL SOIL REPORT SPECIFICATIONS FOR WALL AND STRUCTURE
SPECIFICATIONS AS WELL AS SOIL COMPACTION AND DRAINAGE REQUIREMENTS.
74. CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY UNDERGROUND SERVICE ALERT (800) 422-4133 BEFORE START OF CONSTRUCTION (2 WORKING DAYS OR
48 HOURS).
75. CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY EXISTING LOCATION OF UTILITIES AS NECESSARY TO IDENTIFY LOCATION. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY
THE LOCATIONS OF ALL EXISTING UTILITIES, SERVICES, STRUCTURES, AND FEATURES PRIOR TO START OF CONSTRUCTION. THE
CONTRACTOR SHALL REPAIR, AT HIS OWN EXPENSE ALL DAMAGE RESULTING FROM HIS OPERATIONS.
16. ALL 2:1 SLOPES 3 FEET IN VERTICAL HEIGHT AND ABOVE SHALL BE PLANTED AND IRRIGATED
77. CONTRACTORS ON THE JOB SHALL CARRY INSURANCE SATISFACTORY TO THE OWNER AND PROVIDE PROOF OF CERTIFICATION UPON
REQUEST. THIS POLICY SHALL NOT LAPSE OR BE CANCELED AT ANYTIME DURING PROJECT CONSTRUCTION.
78. THE CONTRACTOR AGREES TO HOLD THE OWNER AND THE LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT HARMLESS FROM ANY CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF HIS
OPERATIONS OR THE OPERATIONS OF ANY OF HIS SUB CONTRACTORS, MATERIALS, SUPPLIERS OR AGENTS.
79, THE CONTRACT DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS REPRESENT THE FINISHED CONSTRUCTION PRODUCT AND DO NOT INDICATE
METHODS, PROCEDURES, OR SEQUENCE OF CONSTRUCTION.
20. THESE DOCUMENTS MAY CONTAIN ERRORS, OMISSIONS, CONTRADICTIONS, ETC. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REVIEW ALL DOCUMENTS
AND SHALL NOTIFY THE LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT AND OWNER IMMEDIATELY UPON ANY SUCH DISCOVERY OR DISCREPANCY. IN THE
EVENT THAT THIS NOTIFICATION IS NOT PERFORMED, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ASSUME FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY LABOR AND
MATERIALS NECESSARY TO REPAIR AND/OR RESTORE THE INSTALLATION TO INDUSTRY STANDARDS AND JURISDICTIONAL CODES.
27. THE OWNER'S SUPERINTENDENT SHALL INSPECT THE PROPOSED LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION WORK IN THESE PLANS PRIOR TO START OF
CONSTRUCTION AND NOTIFY THE LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT OF PLAN DISCREPANCIES OR CONFLICTS WITH OTHER PROFESSIONAL
DISCIPLINES PLANS SUCH AS, BUT NOT LIMITED TO CIVIL ENGINEERS, ARCHITECTS, UTILITIES, GEOTECHNICAL, ETC.
22. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY ALL DIMENSIONS AND SITE CONDITIONS PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF WORK.
23. WRITTEN DIMENSIONS TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER SCALE DIMENSIONS FROM THESE PLANS. THE LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT AND OWNER
SHALL BE NOTIFIED IMMEDIATELY OF ANY SUCH DISCREPANCY.
24. ALL LOCAL, MUNICIPAL, AND STATE LAWS AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING OR RELATING TO ANY PORTION OF THIS WORK ARE
CONSIDERED TO BE INCORPORATED INTO AND MADE A PART OF THESE SPECIFICATIONS.

AFTER PLAN APPROVAL, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONTACT THE LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT PRIOR TO BEGINNING LANDSCAPE WORK SO
THAT THE LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT CAN REVIEW THE PROJECT UTILITY LOCATIONS AND REVISE PLANS ACCORDINGLY TO FULLY SCREEN

IV. AN IRRIGATION AUDIT REPORT SHALL BE COMPLETED PER SECTION 28-106 WITHIN THE CITY OF FONTANA LANDSCAPE ORDINANCE
#1734 AT THE TIME OF FINAL INSPECTION.
V. WITH REGARDS TO LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICTS OR PUBLIC LANDSCAPE, IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE DEVELOPER
TO COMPLY WITH SECTION 28-118 SPECIAL LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICT REQUIREMENTS WITHIN THE CITY OF FONTANA
LANDSCAPE ORDINANCE #1734
Vl. AT THE TIME OF FINAL INSPECTION, THE PERMIT APPLICANT MUST PROVIDE THE OWNER OF THE PROPERTY WITH A CERTIFICATE OF
COMPLETION, CERTIFICATE OF INSTALLATION, IRRIGATION SCHEDULE OF LANDSCAPE AND IRRIGATION MAINTENANCE.
VIL PRESSURE REGULATING DEVICES ARE REQUIRED IF WATER PRESSURE IS BELOW OR EXCEEDS THE RECOMMENDED PRESSURE OF THE

Vlll. CHECK VALVES OR ANTI -DRAIN VALVES ARE REQUIRED ON ALL SPRINKLER HEADS WHERE LOW POINT DRAINAGE COULD OCCUR.
IX. A DIAGRAM OF THE IRRIGATION PLAN SHOWING HYDROZONES SHALL BE KEPT WITH THE IRRIGATION CONTROLLER FOR SUBSEQUENT
