STONE UNIFORMLY GRADED 1" OR 2" SIZE. THE ROCK MATERIAL SHALL BE
PLACED IN 8" TO 10" LIFTS. THE MATERIAL SHALL BE WORKED INTO PLACE BY
SHOVEL -SLICING, RODDING, AIR -TAMPER, VIBRATORY ROD, OTHER
EFFECTIVE METHODS. COMPACTION IS CONSIDERED ADEQUATE WHEN THE
GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER IS SATISFIED WITH THE LEVEL OF COMPACTION.
GEOTEXTILE FILTER FABRIC
THE FILTER FABRIC SHALL BE PLACED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
MANUFACTURE'S RECOMMENDATIONS AND THE FOLLOWING.
• STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR PUBLIC WORKS CONSTRUCTION
SECTION 300-8.1.1
• FILTER FABIC SHALL NOT BE LEFT EXPOSED MORE THAN 7 -DAYS.
• SURFACES TO RECEIVE FILTER FABRIC, IMMEDIATELY PRIOR TO
PLACING, SHALL BE FREE OF LOOSE OR EXTRANEOUS MATERIAL AND
SHARP OBJECTS THAT MAY DAMAGE THE FILTER FABRIC DURING
INSTALLATION.
• FILTER FABRIC SHALL BE PLACED ON THE BOTTOM AND SIDES OF THE
TRENCH AND FOLDED OVER THE TOP AND OVERLAPPED A MINIMUM OF
12 -INCHES.
• ADJACENT ROLLS OF THE FABRIC SHALL BE OVERLAPPED A MINIMUM
OF 12 INCHES, OR AS MANUFACTURE'S RECOMMENDATIONS. THE
PRECEEDING ROLL SHALL OVERLAP THE FOLLOWING ROLL IN THE
DIRECTION THE MATERIAL IS BEING SPREAD.
• SHOULD THE FABRIC BE DAMAGED DURING PLACING, THE TORN OR
PUNCTURED SECTION SHALL BE EITHER COMPLETELY REPLACED OR
SHALL BE REPAIRED BY PLACING BY PLACING A PIECE OF FABRIC THAT
IS LARGE ENOUGH TO COVER THE DAMAGED AREA AND TO MEET THE
OVERLAP REQUIREMENT.
