It is the Landscape Contractor's responsibility to contapt the Engineering Division Landscape Inspector, (48) hours prior to desired inspection of an item at extension (909) 350-6633. 2. Prior to release of utilities or maintenance period cornmencernent, the following inspections are required: a. Pre -Construction meeting(s). b. Constructim of irrigation system in open trench condition Oior to backwo. Pressure Test 150 PSI for a three (3) hour continuous period. C. An irrigation coverage test:, - - d. Planting, including street trees. Contact the parks Planning and Landscape Development Section, Engineering Division, for species and locations. e. Finish grade prior to seeding. f. Compliance with approved landscape plans. g. Any special Conditions of Approval attached to project. h. Final Inspection. 3. The Owner's representative and Landscape CoftWor shah be present at these inspections. MAINTENANCE GUIDELINES w.- Landscape shall be- maintained in a neat, clean, weed free and healthy condition. This shall include, but not limited to: 1. Cultivation of planted beds at intervals (not to exceed ten (10) days). 2. Regular mowing to maintain a lawn height not to exceed two (2) inches (wii vary with species). 3. Regular pruning of plants as necessary to control and direct growth. 4. Scheduled maintenance of irrigation controller to assure proper appkation rate of wMer necessary for proper plant growth. Drip irrigation may require specialized landscape maintenance care. S. Immediate replacement of plant material as needed due to death, disease, or lack of growth. 6. Fertilization on a regular schedule as recommended by the manufacturer to provide proper plant growth. 7. Immediate repair or replacement of irrigation materials as needed to maintain good working condition. 8. Stakes, guys and ties, on trees shaA be checked regularly for carred function. Ties are to be adjusted to avoid abrasions or girdling of trunks or branches. 9. Upon completion of the three (3) months or one (1) year maintenance period, an inspection shall be made by the Community Development Department Engineering Division Landscape Inspection staff. The landscape shall be maintained in accordance with these landscape maintenance standards. maintenance bonding shall be released at the end of the appropriate period if the landscape is maintained according to plans and specifications. 10.
