It is located at the southeast east corner of Curtis Avenue and Lytle Creek Road. The project may be accessed via Citrus Avenue going north from Interstate 210 freeway, then west into Curtis Avenue to the project site REPORT OBJECTIVE: The entire area of this project will have 3 single family residential buildings and landscaping. The objective of this report is to determine the basic hydrologic response of the proposed development to both onsite and offsite storm runoff and to established storm drain facility design criteria for this localized unit for review by the City of Fontana. The project is an "infill" in nature. HYDROLOGY: The rational method hydrology system used on the analysis of the subject site is the San Bernardino County Hydrology Manual dated August, 1986 SUMMARY: The project study area is a corner lot and less than an acre (0.75 ac.), so small that a simple Rational Method Formula, i.e., Q=CIA can be used to determined the flow in 100- year frequency. The properties to the north, west, and south sides of the project are existing single family residential with fully improved drainage system, therefore these properties will not have significant impact to the project. The property to the east is a vacant lot that drains to the south, and it won't have significant impact to the project. The runoff generated by this development (on -site flow) therefore will only be used for sizing of under -sidewalk drain. Applying the formula: Q=CIA , C=0.80, I=1.55 (100-yr.), A=0.75 Ac. I=1.23 (25-yr.) I=1.05 (10-yr.) Q(100) = 0.93 CFS Q(25) = 0.74 CFS Q(10) = 0.63 CFS An under sidewalk drain 1.5 feet wide can easily support the 100-year flow, (see hydraulic calculation below. 1< ( 1.50') >I * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *AAAWater Surface ( 0.15')AAA* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Rectangular Open Channel UNDERSIDEWALK DRAIN Flowrate 0.930 CFS Velocity 4.082 fps Depth of Flow 0.153 feet Critical Depth 0.229 feet Total Depth 0.153 feet Base Width 1.500 feet Slope of Channel 2.000 % X-Sectional Area 0.229 sq. ft.
